The church I go to only uses the KJV. I like it, but I also enjoy reading the the NIV, and NASB. The NASB to me sounds like the KJV, but is a little more easier to understand. The NIV is nice, it sound more poetic to me.
For those who don't know:
KJV- King James Version
NIV- New International Version
NASB- New American Standard Bible

Taken from a recent answer, and I'll keep the persons name secret for obvious reasons;
"
Yeah, when you get a chance, give me a call. I have several pieces of evidence showing God does exist. My life, my son's life, my wife. All pieces of gifts from God"

THAT'S your idea of "Evidence"?
If so, PLEASE never serve on a jury. You'll be convicting someone based on "evidence" that barely amounts to hearsay.
Clearly, the word "evidence" has a FAR different meaning to you than it does to me.

to take guardianship? I don't want to do that. Or do I just "wait" until things are so messed up etc., etc., etc. She doesn't have any money. I just want her to be in a safe environment. She is 73. All opinions are welcome. This is effecting me mentally and I don't want to have a heart attack. Thanks.

Why do women strive to go against God's will? When did it become a bad thing to have the man be in charge?

A woman arrived late for her flight and was not allowed to board the plane. She became irate and was handcuffed and put into a holding cell, where she was left until she quieted.

They went in and found her dead; somehow the handcuffs had become wrapped around her neck.

At some point, her flight was rebooked.

Five years ago, my granddaughter booked a flight for herself and me to Oklahoma City. Since she wasn't sure if I would be the one going with her or her mother, she booked the flight in her mother's name. On the day of the flight was the first I heard that the flight (which was paid for by me) was not in my name.

I had to take a later flight and pay yet another fare.

Delta would not do anything about reimbursement, even though I had paid for three flights and one went empty, through no fault of mine.

I can understand this woman getting irate, even though it was a different airport and a different airline.

i have seen few debates that actually use imperical evidence, most are just analogies, and scripture quoting, which basically amounts to "nut uh, uh huh", have you seen any really good debates, using evidence?

Am I the only one who feels the weight of the world on their shoulders? Why does every problem i hear of hurt me. Knowing all the negatives things that occur every day are enough to make me never want to get out of bed in the morning. Just going to work makes me feel like i am contributing to this evil place. Humans are horrible creatures, at least that is what i have learned during my short time on this earth. I pity the animals especially, so innocent, so pure, yet we come here and ruin the planet for them and ourselves because of our selfish money hungry ways. Will the world come to an end or are people going to start making positive changes or will we remain ignorant and arrogant until it banishes us.

religious veiws state that the purpose of life is to eventually make it to heaven/god. well then why is is that our bodies are designed in a way to live as long as possible? for instance we have an immune system, we scab to stop ourselves from bleeding. our hairs stand up on end when we are cold to get heat ETC. we are DESGINED to survive. why would god design us to survive when at the end of the day he wants us in heaven? you must die to go to heaven but its against our own instincts to die though. we are wired to survive at any cost. it is unhuman to let death take over, we all fight for our last breath. why is this? maybe subconscioully we dont believe in heaven and truly know there is notjing after death so we fight to savour its last moments?

lol just a university student bored i liek to spark little debates and make people think its good for the brain.

ok IF demons and angels exist, i know that demons can be excorcised, and sometimes bound to objects to contain them
but is there a way to "kill" them?
if they existed and were on the plane of earth would they be mortal, or immortal?
and if they can be "killed" then what about angels?
do the same rules apply to them?

here is a little story about if God exists:
A man went to a barbarshop to have his hair cut,as the barbar began to work, they began to have a good conversation. They talked about so many things and various subjects. When the eventually touched on the subject of God, the barber said: I don't believe that God exists. whiy do you say that? asked the customer. Well, you just have to go out in the street to realize that God doesn't exit. Tell me, if God exists, would there be so many sick peopl? would there be abandoned children? If God existed, there would be neither suffering nor pain. I can't imagine loving a God who would allow all of these things.
The customer thought for a moment, but didn't respond because he didn't want to start an argument. The baber finished his joband the customer left the shop. Just after he left the babershop, he saw a man in the street with long, stringy, dirty hair and an untrimmed beard. He looked dirty and un-kept. They customer turned back and entered

“Beliefs separate. Loving thoughts unite.” -- Paul Ferrini

Our ego focuses on how we are different from the rest of the world. We connect with soul when we experience how we are the same.

Any time you separate yourself from other people or from situations, you know your personality is in control. At such times, shift your perspective to build connection and you will move into soul.

“As a holistic being you shatter the illusion of your separateness and reveal your connection to everything. This empowers you in a way that the ego-driven self could never contemplate.” -- Wayne Dyer

Do you agree? Disagree? Why?
