We do look alike.
We resemble each other spiritually...just as we resemble the spiritual nature of God. Yes???

When God said, 'let us make man in our own image,' He simply meant that as He is a triune God, having a body, a soul, and a spirit, so would man. It's not that we look like Him physically, its that we are made in His image and likeness, possessing three dimensions as He does. You don't look like me because we have different parents, silly.

more importantly, anyone who looks "different" must by that logic be "ungodly." I realize most Christians do not (consciously) make that leap, but it is more accurate than many of the straw men arguments they present here.

also, humans have been getting taller over time, especially in the past 200 years. Are we now less like "god" than when we were all 4-foot-something thousands of years ago? Hmmm.

Gods don't make people . People have been inventing "gods" since the beginning of time . Gods have taken every shape and form imaginable .The Christians have settled for a quite nice looking bozo , even though nobody had ever described him or made a drawing of him in his liketime . It's all imagination .

The image of God in man is his spirit. You wouldn't want to look like me.

Because God is spirit. And our spirits are similar to God's as are all men's.

The trinity of God is expressed as:
Isaiah 11
2And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD;

Jeremiah 10
11Thus shall ye say unto them, The gods that have not made the heavens and the earth, even they shall perish from the earth, and from under these heavens.

12He hath made the earth by his power, he hath established the world by his wisdom, and hath stretched out the heavens by his discretion.

13When he uttereth his voice, there is a multitude of waters in the heavens, and he causeth the vapours to ascend from the ends of the earth; he maketh lightnings with rain, and bringeth forth the wind out of his treasures.

and the Son made all things -

John 1
1In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

2The same was in the beginning with God.

3All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
The Father - in Whom there is all wisdom
The Son - by Whom all things were made
The Holy Spirit - Who illuminates the understanding

In man this image is evidenced in Knowledge, Understanding , and Wisdom.

Daniel 5
11There is a man in thy kingdom, in whom is the spirit of the holy gods; and in the days of thy father light and understanding and wisdom, like the wisdom of the gods, was found in him; whom the king Nebuchadnezzar thy father, the king, I say, thy father, made master of the magicians, astrologers, Chaldeans, and soothsayers;

Proverbs 2:6
For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding.
Proverbs 3
19The LORD by wisdom hath founded the earth; by understanding hath he established the heavens.
20By his knowledge the depths are broken up, and the clouds drop down the dew.

Psalm 119
144The righteousness of thy testimonies is everlasting: give me understanding, and I shall live.

Proverbs 20
27The spirit of man is the candle of the LORD, searching all the inward parts of the belly.

Your creative talent, understanding of facts and the application of these using wisdom are your evidences.

Remember you are a soul with a body, not a body with a soul.

Man made god in his image, god looks like whatever any man wants him to look like

you're taking that verse too literally. God has no image. it means we all have some 'godliness' in the way we act, and we should therefore treat everyone accordingly.
and who says anything about there not being any evolution?

There you go, thinking again. You seem not to want to be invited to join a religious cult.
