“Beliefs separate. Loving thoughts unite.” -- Paul Ferrini

Our ego focuses on how we are different from the rest of the world. We connect with soul when we experience how we are the same.

Any time you separate yourself from other people or from situations, you know your personality is in control. At such times, shift your perspective to build connection and you will move into soul.

“As a holistic being you shatter the illusion of your separateness and reveal your connection to everything. This empowers you in a way that the ego-driven self could never contemplate.” -- Wayne Dyer

Do you agree? Disagree? Why?

I agree. One of the wonderful things about being an animist it the connection one feels with the whole world. Everything is connected if we know how to look.

i agree that ego is the seperator but not belief. i think its the ego twist in religion that causes it. the idea that they are the only path everyone else is wrong. within my group are buddhists occultists pagans jews christians and many other paths all of which have turned their backs on the founded religious hierachies. we all hold to the belief that their are many paths and accept all.
unfortunately for the young churches or beliefs they believe to keep some one they need to make themselves the only path. unlike the older religions which accept all paths. its is the new religions ego believing that if people are convinced to stay they will live on. but in this day and age even that will not work as the return to the old ways shows. and we welcome them back without judging them. for even we work to find our paths.
try going beyond soul and reaching every one through total acceptance of all or super concious.
here lies truth and love

Kallan, I agree with you wholeheartedly. I've been saying for a while now that certain religions do nothing but divide us, but for the most part people of those religions think of the separation as a good thing. They think it's okay to think of others as deserving of less than the reward they get for being a part of their religion (i.e., Heaven vs. Hell). They take that attitude into everything that they do. That's one of the reasons I'm anti-religion, I want a greater good than most religions can provide.

I agree; some people are afraid that integration with others will lead to loss of the self, but in actuality, integration reinforces the self. We are best expressed through our interaction with others; social interaction provides us with the basis for self-expression.

We are best expressed when we express ourselves to another's benefit.

I find Mr. Ferrini's and Mr. Dyer's comments a bit simplistic. I believe in God, who loves all His creation and wants us to know and trust Him.

You have to believe in a soul to even start thinking about agreeing.

Beliefs may well separate man from man but all men are sinful.
God does not unite man with sinful man but brings man to God's righteousness and unites him with God.
Through God all men can be united with a righteous God who sustains his creation.

If I aver that 1+1=2, and another avers it is not so, are we not divided?

TRUTH IS EVER THE DIVIDER OF MEN.
