Because they don't represent the majority of people.
America is a mostly Psuedo-Christian nation, because a huge segment of the population who call themselves Christians are Christian in name only. I know many of these people. They will defend Christianity to the hilt and call themselves Christian when asked. Most have never read the bible. They smoke weed, take dope, drink, have promiscuous sex, rarely go to church, watch porn, endorse shallow hollywood entertainment.,..... and yet they will defend Christianity with all their might.

because the bible isnt exactly a very good government system, all that death and destruction..eye for an eye, smite you stuff.....its best to leave the governing to people with a brain, instead of an ancient mythology book.
