My family is Catholic, and recently I have felt like I dont really beleive what they beleive in. Im so confused and its permanently at the back of my mind. I still have to go to church every sunday and I think if I did anything un-Catholic theyd completely freak out. How do I solve this, or at least not let it bother me.

"Norma McCorvey, the plaintiff in Roe v. Wade, never actually got an abortion. She'd long since put the kid up for adoption when the Supreme Court ruled in her favor. She later became a pro-lifer!" *

I honestly didn't know that until just now...

Your comments please?

This morning, I went to Sky Harbor airport to pick up a friend. While there, I noticed the Muslim cabdrivers doing their prayers. It was alot of up and down, bending and overall looked like a pretty good workout. It got me to thinking of the times I have gone to the Catholic Church with my wife, and they do what I call Catholic aerobics, up, down, kneel, cross, up ,down, kneel, cross. Well, one time one of my ex-wives got me to go to a Nazarene Church, in California, and they were rolling around, getting a really good workout.
So with all this good execise, do you think those folks will have a longer lifespan than say, Episcopalians, or Methodists, or others who just sit there to worship?
I know Jehovah's Witnesses must have good cardio with all that walking and knocking.
As an Atheist, I only have my home gym, the B.E.D. Would I get a better workout if I convert to one of these ideologies?
What do you think?

Face it, this world is pretty screwed up. Why would I want to believe that all there is is a mess? I can have complete peace in a loving GOd, knowing that evil will be punished in the end, and that faith will be rewarded. And y'all want me to give that up for what? NOTHING. Honestly, I don't understand that. I have everything I could ever want. And you want me to trade that for _nothing_. Why?

Okay, I'm curious. In our church, we are encouraged to get married in the temple as soon as possible and have our families.. Of course, within the bounds of love and respect, we sure aren't supposed to get married to the first returned missionary with a libido. Okay, so let's say I'm in love with this guy, and he's on a mission, and won't be back for one year, four months and 12 days. (lol. See, I'm completely objective here.) Lets say we dated in high school and broke up cause dating in high school doesn't make sense when he's just gonna leave. Its been four and a half years, and I still have feelings for him, so i want to see if there's anything to it when he gets back. I don't want anything serious, so I date casually for a while, waiting for him to come home. I don't mind, and I will change my mind if neccessary. Does the church frown on this? Should I be looking to get serious, or is it okay to wait for him? Lets say I wouldn't even ask if I wasn't sure he felt the same.

Are there any movies out there that you've refused to watch, sight unseen, based on the title alone? Some possible examples: House of 1000 Corpses, the Omen, Dogma, etc.

I'm just curious.

Danke.

ive asked several questions concerning such topics as sasqautch, the mothman, etc
and everytime there are christians who call me wrong then try to explain why christianity is right
what is wrong with you?
if i wanted to know what you believed i would have asked specifically for that question
the christians are mad at the atheists for doing this, when in fact their doing the same thing
what is wrong with the christians? why do they call you wrong and try to tell you about their religion when you clearly dont care?

does the Old Testament predict events in the New Testament with such startling accuracy? For example, the Old Testament predicts the Immaculate Conception and several of the events surrounding Jesus' death. How could the Old Testament have predicted these events in such detail if it hadn't been divinely inspired?

I share an office with a lazy and dishonest co-worker. She has the nerve to actually falls asleep at her desk! She burps loudly and just the sound of her voice puts me in an awful mood! I just found out that this co-worker has been adding additional hours on her timecard that she did not really work for the week, and I'm sure it's not the first time. It really irks me because I'm honest and account for my hours accurately. Our boss' office is not near ours so she does not know when this co-worker comes and goes. I feel strongly that I should notify the boss of what's been going on but I don't know how I should approach the boss about it. I feel like my boss should be made aware of the situation. Any suggestions?

..commemorating the great Mahatma Gandhi's birth anniversary(2nd October 1869).His morals and principles have been the themes for many books, movies etc. and have inspired such notable personalities as Nelson Mandela, Martin Luther King etc.i don't think there's any need for me to elaborate on their successes..anw, i was wondering how R&S can get extremely heated up, or in other words,"violent" at times, and what better way to mark this occassion than to practise his teachings?i know that for many of us, it can be quite exhaustive to keep those insults back, not to provoke our "enemies",but can't we do so at least for 24 hours?we'll all refrain from offending other people (which includes preaching your religion where not necessary, and giving irrelevant answers), give less thumbs down(hey, it does make some people angry) and do whatever you think will promote peace.let's keep in mind the terrorist attacks, the wars and sectarial violences, and unite to put a stop to thm.wht do u think?

I copied this from another person's response... the original question won't contribute anything to assist you in understanding it's meaning any better and you'll be able to see that it was asking about the effectiveness of prayer.... What do you think?
================
So, I don't think it's pointless to pray for help, if you happen to believe in God. You're not asking Him to change all His plans, really, just for other people to be inspired to make the right choices within the context of those plans.

Is this thinking Kosher?
