Are there any movies out there that you've refused to watch, sight unseen, based on the title alone? Some possible examples: House of 1000 Corpses, the Omen, Dogma, etc.

I'm just curious.

Danke.

Movies out of Hollywood don't get my money...just sick and tired of someone who gets paid to recite some lines thinking that I want to hear them spout off about leaving the country if so and so gets elected and then NOT making good on their word.

Do TV show titles count?...If so 'Desperate Housewives' and 'Sex in the City' are the ones that I've refused to watch.

Das Willkommen.

Title alone, eh?

There is a new show on the ABC Televison Network this fall called "Dirty, Sexy, Money."

All of the actors in the show are those I have long enjoyed - but the title of the show is an incredible turn off. I don't even consider wheather or not it has to do with my beliefs... it's just a disgusting title.

When it comes to refusing to watch something based on my faith - I didn't go see the "Hellraiser" series of movies - or the NBC Miniseries "Revelations" because of the profane corruption of scripture by "Omen" screenplayer author David Seltzer. For that matter - I tend to refuse to watch anything that has a religious bent if it is broadcast on the NBC Television Network since they have taken such an active stance in deliberately opposing Christianity in their broadcasts for the past 20 years.

I refused to watch "The Last Temptation of Christ," on purely religious reasons. I'm sure there were others... but I can't recall them now.

I am not interested in nudity or foul language in what I view - but I love Action, Mystery, Suspense, high brow Comedy and Classic Romance.

Peace.

I probably wouldn't watch something like "House of 1000 Corpses" based on the name because I've never been into horror flicks; it's not a religious choice for me, though - just a preference. I've seen The Omen; not really my cup of tea either, but still not a religious issue for me. I'm Jewish, if that matters. I'd probably steer clear of something like "Horny Bimbo Threesomes" too ;-)

I watch what I want to watch. Movies are not real and I don't believe that demons are going to jump out of them onto me and make my life a living hell. I like horror movies and that is because of special effects. I never get any weird feelings about any of them. Anyway, when you know that God is about grace it kind of loosens the grip.

Title alone? Jesus Christ Superstar sounds pretty retarded to me, I wouldn't watch it. Other than that, no title really turns me off. Maybe something like Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me. Makes me assume it's all about sex which I wouldn't want to watch. I find sexual humor very unfunny and immature.

Of course there are movies I have refused to see based on the title, but that has nothing to do with me being a Christian. It has more to do with me being a fraidy cat.

Based on "title" alone? None so far.

God made us smart enough to be able to differentiate fiction from non-fiction.

If based on the actor/cast, director or producer, then yes. I value where i put my time and money to or into.

I refuse to watch Steel Magnolias. I don't know why, but it looks more boring than watching flies...paint. I haven't seen a good movie since 300. Sigh...

No. I don't see a problem with scary movies - it's entertainment. I guess I figure with all of the things God is busy helping all of us with, he probably doesn't give a flip about a movie.

Ummm...nope.

However, at one point I was boycotting The Faculty because it included a (HORRIBLE) remake of a Pink Floyd song. Then my husband bought the movie. Sigh.
