Thoughts?

He makes it quite clear that he is against religion because there is no evidence to support it, and that blind followers of religion, ie all religionists, are the most dangerous people on the planet. Is it possible that he did not even realize what he said?

I don't believe (get it?) Anyway, Bill O'Reilly is not a closet atheist, BUT this is the only thing I have ever heard him say that I agree with 100%. Bill just went up a hair on my {not a fundie} meter..... just a hair!

Bill's a Catholic with a mind of his own. Read some of his books and you'll see what I mean. He's basically talking about people who want to believe something so strongly, that even though there is concrete (like scientific, objective, first person account, etc) evidence to prove otherwise, they deny factual evidence and believe what they wanted to in the first place. People like this are generally very biased and angry on the inside. He's not talking about decent people who have faith in a God or Goddes. He's talking about people who, you could tell them that the grass on the ground is green, but they are going to fight you to the death that it is black. He was mostly talking about extreme liberals who have no sense of logic at all, not decent democrats who have a different view on the war. You could make a similar comparision between a decent Christian and a fundemantalist Christian who is going to take all of their energy to try to convince you are going to burn in hell for listening to Linkin Park. Bill has a show on fox news, it's pretty interesting to watch if you would like to get to know him better. He has an interesting way of looking at things.

I'm not sure that Bill O'Reilly has a clear sense of belief about anything.

Most people can make a good argument of believing in something without evidence. The thing is, is that christians claim to have personal evidence of god and jesus.

Or they compartmentalize their religious beliefs

I've wondered this for a long time and I think he knows there's no god but understands that to keep a certain percentage of his audience he has to at least pretend to believe.

I think the same about Rush Limbaugh.

I'd love to see someone debate him on his show about this very fact. In fact, I'd would even watch his program for that one.

Bill O'Reilly is a journalist the same way that a Subway employee is a sandwich "artist".

Quite honestly, he isn't the kind of person I would WANT on my side.

If O'Reilly is a closet Atheist.....that would be the thing that would make me believe in God again.

He's an idiot.
