I hear a lot of people swear that KJV is the ONLY bible to read but that seems a tad arrogant. I mean I've heard some people say that it should only be read in english which is god's language but that's preposterous.

I've also noticed heated debates between people that like NIV and people who see it as filth.

What gives?

will religious fanatics bring about the end of days to fulfil their prophesies? Ignorance within religious organizations teaches their followers to show discontent toward their fellow man. It seems to me that some Christians are just waiting in anticipation for Judgement Day, what will happen when JD doesnt come; will they make it happen? we already see religious fanaticism in the east, what threat are our own people to the safety of our Nations?

I know not all Religious people are fanatics, that most are good, rounded individuals, but what about the ones that aren't?

I recently read this sentence in an ad one of my counselling expert aquaintance wrote on his visiting card. However I think it is a gramatically incorrect sentence. Though I was not able to explain why it wasnt correct but i did suggest my friend that a better and a gramatically correct sentence will be - "If you are tensed & anxious" or "if you have a feeling of tension & anxiety". Can someone give me the reason why.

I recently became anti-religious (or am still in the process of becoming so). It does bother me a bit seeing that it's a step further than atheism was for me and I am not particularly fond of going to extremes.

However, I see that more evil came from religion than from no religion and the Big Three (Judaism, Christianity, Islam) are certainly cruel religions, judging by their holy books.

It doesn't worry me so much when people believe in their god(s), but when they follow an organised religion that claims to know the truth, and that (according to their books) is not too proud to approve of stonings, slavery etc.

I don't even mind the people; it's rather like I don't like hiphop, but I still like people listening to hiphop.

Anybody sharing these views? How do you go about it? Do actively go against it (by sharing your views with religious people, supporting Dawkins, whatever)? Can you really sit back and do nothing while thinking that religions are a serious threat?

I have been going to a youth club which is run by Christians, they all have so much confidence and high self-esteem, i have none of that, i have tried asking Jesus/God if they will help me but i haven't yet recieved a clear enough sign to let me know about there true existance, i want to be a Christian, but then i don't :s i think i kinda want to be one becasue when i am in there company i feel uncomfortable becasue i am a non-Christian and they all are Christians, but then i don't think i would be able to give up certain things to ensure this, things like.....masturbation :s

Is it based on uprbringing, rational thought, or something else? This question is for all Christians whether Roman Catholics, Orthodox Catholics, or Protestants. Also what is your definition of a Christian? And who and what do you consider a saved Christian? Thank you for your answers in advance.

My first instinct is to respond rather nonchalantly, as if they has just told me that they're left-handed, and that their sexual orientation doesn't matter to me at all (which it doesn't). But I also wonder if by doing that, I'm completely dismissing any importance of what they're trying to tell me, and ignoring the courage that I can only imagine it might require to come out.

How would YOU prefer someone to respond?

Why are people so cold towadrs Jesus-Yeshua? And why are they offended when someone even pronounces His name? He only did good to all mankind. Why do people look at people's failiars, and not let Jesus be their example. I tell you this would be a better place with Jesus example going around. Anastasia @yeshuastruth.com

can anyone recommend a deck (other than the Witches Tarot) that you have used and had good results with?

2007-10-01 07:34:06 · 19 answers · asked by Diane 4 in Religion & Spirituality

I have no “burden of proof”, for this is not a debate.

I have a “burden to warn”, and that is all:
"When I [GOD] say to a wicked man, 'You will surely die,' and you do not warn him or speak out to dissuade him from his evil ways in order to save his life, that wicked man will die for his sin, and I will hold you accountable for his blood. But if you do warn the wicked man and he does not turn from his wickedness or from his evil ways, he will die for his sin; but you will have saved yourself" -Ezekiel 3:18-19
-

So, why do you keep demanding proof?

Even as Jesus stated, “None will be given…” (Matthew 12:39)

If Jesus Himself would give no proof (except for coming back from the dead), then why do you make such an outlandish demand from His slaves?
