I have been going to a youth club which is run by Christians, they all have so much confidence and high self-esteem, i have none of that, i have tried asking Jesus/God if they will help me but i haven't yet recieved a clear enough sign to let me know about there true existance, i want to be a Christian, but then i don't :s i think i kinda want to be one becasue when i am in there company i feel uncomfortable becasue i am a non-Christian and they all are Christians, but then i don't think i would be able to give up certain things to ensure this, things like.....masturbation :s

God does not call us to be perfect or without sin. He knows that we have sinned, are sinning, and will continue to sin. If we could live our lives without sin then He would not have sent Christ to die for us and cover our sin, He would have left us under the Law. If you are seeking God in any way, then He is already working His way into your heart. You have to take a leap of faith, believe in Him, that He is who He says He is and that He will do what He says He will do. If you ask Him into your heart and believe what you are praying, you will begin to notice a change in yourself. I accepted Christ's gift at the age of 19. I was a drug addict, sexually promiscuous, an alcoholic and a pretty hateful person. If you were to meet me now, you would never know that was my past. I did not change overnight, God has worked on me and will continue to do so until the day He calls me home. As far as masturbation goes, I don't know that it is sinful. Premarital sex is sinful and if masturbating keeps you from that, then I don't know that it is a sinful act. I am married and when my husband is away and I have those desires, I do it too.

Hey Girl,
It's good that you are asking this question, it means you have been thinking about it and probably a few of the bigger questions in life.
I am a Christian myself and have found at times, as sad as it may be, that in some Christian circles you will find what I call 'clicks'. Tight knit groups that are hard to connect with or breakthrough. This usually happens when the group has been together for a couple of years. It sounds like you perhaps have encountered one of theses groups.
It sucks that they are making you feel uncomfortable but if they are your age I am going to take and educated guess (educated only because I have been there, not because I have studied this age group) they are probably just as nervous or unsure how to talk to you as you may be towards them. I am not real good myself at breaking into groups, a lot better now that I am older but at your age I worried about too much.
God does not always send a clear as day answer to all our questions either. He talks to us a lot through his word the Bible and we can talk to him through prayer.
As hard as it may be, part of the Christian walk is to trust our whole lives over to him and trust that he is working his purpose out even when things don't make sense to us. You only need to open your heart to Jesus and start living your life for him, living the way he shows us in the Bible. From where you are coming from that may not make sense, so I encourage you to talk to one of the Youth Group leaders and let them know that you want to find Jesus. They should be able to help you find him and give you guidance if you really want to find Jesus.
As for giving up certain things for God to become a Christian, That is something that Christians all around the world will struggle with, not just Masturbation but everyday sin.
If you would like to talk more I would be glad to help if I can, I will be praying for you and hope that your questions will be answered in Jesus. zee.

Jesus is far from you, He is just close by. What you need do is just say (prayer) in your own way that u want to accept Him as your personal Lord and Savior (say it like you mean it) and you will experience His peace and love.

His word in the bible says Rom 8:1 & 2:If you belong to Christ Jesus, you won't be punished. The Holy Spirit will give you life that comes from Christ Jesus and will set you free from sin and death.
As for your those 'things', u'll be able to drop them easily because He will give better things than those.

But you will need to get a bible - Hard or Online- I have both on my computer and a hardcopy to go to church with. You will also need to attend church and you group meetings. If u look closely, u'll find someone who you can get close to and that u can get along with to help u thru the bible and answer any Q that u have

To find Jesus, call on His name and ask Him to come into your life. This is a sure sign that He is working in your life. Many of the things that you now do, knowing that God doesn't approve, you won't have a desire to do anymore or you will feel guilty if you do. That is the Spirit of God pointing out to you the things that God is not pleased with and helping you to change these things. All you have to do is tell God that you want Him in your life and that you need His help to be the best Christian you can be.

If you read the bible you'll see that most of the prophets took a long time to define their beliefs. Even Jesus spent 40 days and nights in the desert being tempted by evil.

You don't have to define your religion right now. You're on your search for your faith and that's a very important thing. :)

In a lot of ways, being on a journey to discover and define your faith is a lot more in keeping with Christianity than just blindly accepting Christ so you should be proud that you're questioning and questing!

hey, your problem is not a big deal. Jesus is with us always till the end of our days. You can witness Him to your "good" neighbors. Just be true to yourself. Jesus is not from a distant, He's with us. Don't worry if your prayers haven't yet answered, let's just wait in Jesus' time.
God bless you always...

I'm guessing that every Christian young person there engages in masturbatory behavior, then because they have lusted in their hearts, they ask God to forgive them, and assured of His love, and forgiveness, they get up and go on with God.

If you truly believes in him, do you think it matters if you sin?
And why would you have to give up anything to become a christian? Your heart is the temple, not the crappy preachy places outside.

BEING AND STAYING a virgin is an AWESOME GIFT, GIRL!!!!!!!!!!!
MEN ONLY WANT DOWN YOUR PANTS, so they can tell somebody else--that is the truth.
I was STILL a virgin at 25!!

As for the other---Been there.
Jesus just wants you to invite Him into your heart.
He GIVES YOU self esteem and much MORE!
He loves you SO MUCH!
He thinks you are WONDERFUL!
Say to yourself, " I am the apple of God's eye!"
"I am UNIQUE!"
"God can use me to be a witness!"

Jesus in your heart helps you to love people and to look at them as though THEY are Jesus Christ, Himself.

But ONLY Jesus, Who is God also, can change you.
People CANNOT.
God sends you The Holy Spirit of Jesus Christ to live in your heart and change you.
JUST FOR ASKING for forgiveness of all the sins you have ever committed, and tell Him you believe He died on the cross to save you from all your sins, and to come into your heart and change you.....
HE WILL DO IT!!

He would NEVER break a promise!
