I'm neither atheist nor Christian, but I speak Latin just fine (along with Hebrew, French, German, and Spanish); A.D. stands for "anno domini" and translates literally to "in the year of our lord." We Jews use "BCE" and "CE" ("before the common era" and "common era," respectively). A.D. does NOT stand for "after death;" that is a popular misconception by many English-speaking individuals, as it fits so nicely (but incorrectly) with "before Christ."

Anno Domini - Year of the Lord.

Anno Domini - Latin for "in the year of the lord." These days the term "C.E." is often used, meaning "common era," instead of A.D.

I am not a Christain, and although I know what A.D stands for, I'm not going to tell you diddly squat. If you want to know, or if you REALLY care to know, use the computer GOD gave you to find out, without a Christain having to tell you, even as you insult them for what they believe. Stick it, ****, you're UNFAIR!

It stands for "anno domini" and means "Year of our Lord. B.C. stands for "before Christ".

Yes, I'm a Christian, and no, I didn't have to look it up - I knew it. And quit slamming Christians, please.
