homosexual unions just weren't even thought of then...that's called progress.
adultry is STILL grounds for divorce, as it should be...that's not christian, that's just sensable.
In god we trust is on the currency, that's acknowledgment of a higher power...not necessarily christian
statues have nothing to do with government...so they can have whatever they want
If you want to live under state sponsered religion...move to Iran!

I understand that you are trying to prove a point, but you are off topic. Just because you have come up with some Christian based examples (not very good ones either) it still does not prove the the country of the United States was founded on Christianity. Yes, some people have used theocracy as a means to try and force their religion onto others. (Most of which happened much much later then the 1700's.)
Think about it for a second. People left Britain because of religious persecution. Why would we decide to establish a church and do the exact thing that we hated in the first place? It doesn't make any sense.
Oh and you forget about the treaty of Tripoli in 1797. In Article 11, it states: "As the Government of the United States of America is not, in any sense, founded on the Christian religion..." This treaty represented U.S. law as all U.S. Treaties do.

Judeo-Christian principles (spell it right) call for homosexuals to be stoned to death:
Lev.20:13
If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.
Or didn't you read your bible?
The US Constitution is a secular document promising freedom from tyranny. Keep your fundamentalist delusions out of our laws. In the past when those religious statues were financed, states were locking away intellectuals like Oscar Wilde for homosexuality. Let's not return to the hatred of the past.

Since you obviously don't have any high school, the Establishment Clause of the FIRST Amendment of the Constitution prohibits the establishment of a national religion by Congress or the preference of one religion over another, or religion over non-religion.
This means that there will be NO LAWS regarding what religion people are. Or what religion people aren't. PERIOD. Marriage, gay-sex, adultery, and decorative statuary are considered personal matters and are therefore NOT mentioned in the Constitution.

The country was founded on what you call religious principals.
What you may be referring to is the fact that our Constitution prohibits the establishment of religion, not its practice.
PS You forgot to mention that when the Supreme Court opens its meting the bailiff says God save the Supreme Court.

Yesssssss indeedy, this nation was founded by those who had been oppressed.....and they wanted to live with freedom to practice their Christianity. The principles you list are Christian.....and in addition to what you list, the BIBLE was used as a textbook ,and devotional in the schools !! It was the Lord God of the Bible Who was behind the founding of this great nation.

Some of it is Christian, but educate yourself:
Numerous sources [apparently] outside Freemasonry report that the vast majority of the American founders and signatories of the U.S. Constitution were Freemasons.

For the same reasons that slavery is illegal, and people are allowed to sow wheat and corn together.
Just because you'll read about it in The Bible doesn't mean you'll find it in the culture, and just because you find it in the culture doesn't mean that The Bible is guiding the US.
