Being out in the desert can cause heatstroke. Heatstroke can cause hallucinations. Notice that a lot of the prophets in the Bible tended to be wandering around in the desert a lot.
Moses was out in the desert wilderness when he saw the "burning bush". Jesus was out in the desert when he had his supposed confrontations with the devil. Etc, etc.

Because for some reason people think that God only had prophets in that region and he couldnt have possibly had any other prophets to lead the people in the rest of the world.
Mormons dont believe that prophets were only in this region. We believe that there were prophets all over the world. That is what the book of mormon is. It is the writings of prophets in the americas. The bible is the writings of prophets in the middle eastern region.
There is a good chance there are writings of prophets in other parts of the world too.
I dont understand why it is so unbelievable to think that there were more then just a handful of prophets in one small section of the world.

only those prophets who star in the bible come from the middle east...all other cultures have prophets that came from wherever their holy books were written.

Most of the Prophets(PBUT*) that ALLAH(SWT) sent were to the Jews in Palestine. That's why most of the Prophets(PBUT*) were from the Middle East. The Jews killed most of the Prophets(PBUT*) that were sent to them.
