I copied this from another person's response... the original question won't contribute anything to assist you in understanding it's meaning any better and you'll be able to see that it was asking about the effectiveness of prayer.... What do you think?
================
So, I don't think it's pointless to pray for help, if you happen to believe in God. You're not asking Him to change all His plans, really, just for other people to be inspired to make the right choices within the context of those plans.

Is this thinking Kosher?

No. It sounds like this person was asking his/her god to take his/her side in some kind of dispute. What plans would this person consider the "right" plan?
Is it "Kosher" for believers to think they should be paid for believing? I don't think so.

If God has a plan, aren't people kind of forced to follow it? On the other hand, doesn't prayer infringe upon free will?

No. The bible teaches that prayer is direct communication and intervention with God.

It is a great mystery but we co-labor with God in prayer and He works according to the prayers of His people.

There are several instances in the bible where God did change His plans because of people's prayers (coupled with faith, repentance, etc).

god bless

No....

As believers, we are told to pray.....regardless of the fact that God is sovereign and will have His way.

I cannot explain the sovereignty of God and man's free will working together.........but it does. And I thank God that He is in control of it all.

I don't think god needs advice on how to enact his plans.
