Sorry about this but......everyone I know is here in R&S so that's why I ask this here. I hope it doesn't get deleted.

My wife and I live on the 2nd floor of an apartment complex. Our downstairs neighbors smoke like chimneys. So naturally, we end up with the smoke smell in our place from time to time.

We don't really know them too well....it's more of a "hi" and "goodbye" relationship. The smoke bothers us but what can we do? They pay rent and have every right to smoke in their apartment so..........

Any suggestions as to how I can approach this without possibly getting into an arguement?

Someone I know is a Jehovah's Witness and she tells me we are "Living in the last days". I asked her when, but she replies with "soon" and will not tell me anymore unless she teaches me the religion first.

Is there a certain date that Jehovah's Witness believe the world will end?

Thanks in advance!

That is one of the most important questions anyone can ask, and various aspects of the answer are found throughout the Bible, which is also called the “Scriptures” and the “Book”. God used a man named Moses to write the first five parts, or “books”, of the Bible:
Luke 24:27, 44 “And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he [Jesus Christ] expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself… And he [Jesus Christ] said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me.”
John 5:39, 46-47 “Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me [Jesus Christ]… For had ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me [Jesus Christ]: for he wrote of me. But if ye believe not his writings, how shall ye believe my words?”

Hebrews 10:7 “Then said I [Jesus Christ], Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me) to do thy will, O God.”

Dear Y!A:

I have been told that I could "charm the pants off of a Nun". What is meant by this? Are Nuns really that frisky? And more importantly, is this even something I in which I would even want to participate?

Please help; Sister Sarah has been looking at me in the most peculiar way...

Signed,

I don't want to kiss her Rosary

Personally I don't understand how anyone has a right to tell other people how they should live unless they are something like a drug addict and trying to help the person overcome their addiction. I am a straight married woman with 2 kids. So because I chose a differnt lifestyle than a gay/lesbian marraige, does that make it right for me or anyone to dictate to gay/lesbian people how they should run their lives? To define what marraige constitutes? NO! They have a right to marry just as anyone would and to those people that say "Well if we allow this, we might as well allow people to marry their pets" I got one thing to say to that! Open your freaking brain a little and use some common sense! What do you all think?

Something that you aren't entirely sure how you feel, or that you see multiple sides of the issue, and think that each are valid points of view, etc.

I was at a bar drinking. When one of those "you might be if..." fellows stagered up. He was rubbing all over the waitress. He clearly had a wedding band on. He began to talk to me, in his slurred speak. I was polite, and we engaged in "bar talk" as always the talk turned to religion. I simple stated I did not believe in God. I did not even get a chance to explain my position when he said. What the (edit) are you one of those (edit) Atheist. That is (edit) un-American. Your gonna burn in (edit)
Now you can call this a rant but here is the question.
Do you think Jesus wants this kind of representation?
And before you say That's a small percent of "christians" or he was not a true "christian" read some of the posts on here and observe the world outside of your own.
Are you a good ambasador for your religion?

below is my verse for today. I deal with this issue and my mouth in criticizing others. Here is my true question WHEN JESUS MET THE WOMAN AT THE WELL AND SAID "AH BUT YOU HAVE 5 HUSBANDS, HELD HER ACCOUNTABLE, ............ that doesn't match this verse so I struggle between modeling which behavior, Jesus at the well, and yes exhortation includes holding others accountable if you look up the definition. So ??? be sweet and say nothing or do more like what Jesus did ??????????? Just normal answers, not more verses please unless it backs up your answer OK ?
VERSE:
Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but
only what is helpful for building others up according to their
needs, that it may benefit those who listen.

about its design?

On the human level, there's death, rape, torture and war... on the Earthly level there are hurricanes, tornadoes, floods and earthquakes... on the astronomical level there are solar flares, exploding stars and colliding galaxies. I don't call those things too intelligent. It seems more random to me...

When Charles Darwin introduced the theory of evolution through natural selection over 140 years ago, the scientists of the day argued over it fiercely, but the massing evidence from paleontology, genetics, zoology, molecular biology and other fields gradually established evolution's truth beyond reasonable doubt. Today that battle has been won everywhere--except in the public imagination.

Embarrassingly, in the 21st century, in the most scientifically advanced nation the world has ever known, creationists can still persuade politicians, judges and ordinary citizens that evolution is a flawed, poorly supported fantasy. They lobby for creationist ideas such as "intelligent design" to be taught as alternatives to evolution in science classrooms.
Many "antievolutionists" freely admit that they intend for intelligent-design theory to serve as a "wedge" for reopening science classrooms to discussions of God.

Why do you think such dishonesty prevails?
Can education prevail?
