Yes.

Kennedy's and Lincoln's assassinations were clearly "foretold" in Moby Dick, too.

Didn't you read the math that goes behind the "Bible Code"? Those "skips" are thousands of characters long and you could get similar results in any sufficiently large book - and yes "codes" have been found in War and Peace, Moby Dick and others.

Note also: that the "codes" are totally useless before an event occurs as you can only find them after the event and even then the interpretation or relation to the event is a stretch.

The bible was not written to require a computer program to decipher its secrets. It is to be revealed to believers by the Holy Spirit. There are no codes.

There are, however, types and shadows ... something taught in theology class. As an example, Noah's ark is a type of Christ – both saving believers. The days leading up to the great flood foreshadow the last days. Revelation cannot be fully understood without referring to Daniel. Leviticus isn't complete without Hebrews. These are all "codes" the unbeliever cannot unravel.

God didn't bother with "codes" of any kind.
Some nut came up with this idea a long time ago. Recently it was popularized because of a book, and WOW!!! Does it make them MONEY, BIG MONEY!!!
They couldn't be happier because they are making all kinds of MONEY on people that actually FALL for this stuff.
Just read the Bible and see what it actually says. Forget about this code stuff. It is not real.

The Bible defines itself as "allegory" & "mystery";
And clarifies the mystery is made know unto "us",
not unto them vs them who "oppose them-selves"
with Law vs Law is as Loser vs Loser either way,
of such Left vs Right of the high-mindead on high,
where "wickedness" notably occurs: Ephesians 6.

As for theories, about Bible codes, flush them all;
for they're as cloudy as rapture theories of x-ians,
and as destructive as evolution theories of atheists.

The GRACE of our Lord Jesus Christ with you all. Amen.

If these were prophecies, what good does it do to figure it out AFTER it's over?

For that matter, what good does it do to know a prophecy ahead of time, if there is nothing you can do about it anyway?
