At present, same-sex marriages are recognized nationwide in the Netherlands, Belgium, Spain, Canada and South Africa, etc. What impact has this had on heterosexual marriage?

For example, the numbers show that heterosexual marriage looks pretty healthy in Scandinavia, where same-sex couples have had rights the longest.

Okay, I'm now 4 months pregnant with my second child, and by Halloween, I will be 5 1/2 months pregnant. So I've been trying to figure out the perfect Halloween costume to play it up. I want to go all out and have fun. Well, I think I've come up with the perfect costume. I absolutely love it and am hoping to get started on it right away to make sure it's done in time. I'm going to dress up as a pregnant angel and wear a sign that says "The Devil Made Me Do It...Again." My husband's going to dress up as the devil. Then I'm going to take it a step further by dressing my first child (who will be 21 months old) as a half-devil/half-angel. It's going to be sooo adorable.

I just saw this as a response to another question, from a certain member of this board:

"The Bible says, "The fool says in his heart there is no God" and as you can see there are a lot of fools who post on this site. And I respect their right to do so."

Now, I understand that the BIBLE calls us fools - but does that give the Christian the right to call us fools? Furthermore, is it truly respectful to call us "fools"?

I respect the rights of Christians to post on this site as well - but I can respect their rights without having to resort to calling them names either... What's with these kinds of personal attacks?

Oh yeah.... ARRRGGGGHHHHHH!!!! Shiver me timbers!

He's a nice guy in general...but the way he speaks to me is condescending and rude. If he's walking by and I call out to him to ask a question, he'll just keep walking...even while he's answering. And the majority of his requests sound like "You are going to do...", "I want you to..." ect....rarely a 'please' or 'thank you'. If I send him a message via IM, I will not get a response...It's as if he can't be bothered. I am getting fed up with being spoken to in such a rude unprofessional manner. Do I confront the boss?? Or look for another job??

My history teacher has challeneged the class to find an instance in which a group of white people were mistakenly fired upon by cops. This is due to the large number of times this has happened to blacks.

I am asking my fellow brothers and sisters in Islam for some advice. I was reading online the other day of how so many people are on these donor lists for livers, kidneys, hearts, etcetera. I know that a human can give a kidney and bone marrow while still alive and live like that. My question is, is it possible for me to do this? It broke my heart reading about this family who lost their child to kidney cancer. If I can do this, how would I go about doing it? What are the chances of my kidney matching a stranger's? No, I don't want to do it for money, I just don't want to know another family will go through so much pain when they lose a child because they didn't get an organ on time.

I'm totally serious. I just read another question in which all of these christians are claiming that if they were being tortured they would peacefully gaze at the heavens and find solace in christ's love. I think if you had to endure unrelenting pain, you would do or say anything to make it stop, and that goes for everybody.

I see and hear a lot of people giving their opinion, while blatantly disregarding others' opinions... i just want to know whats wrong with being open minded? There could be a point, a fact that contradicts your own... yet makes sense.
if it doesnt make sense to you, it makes sense to SOMEONE. there has to be a reason right? that 'someone' wouldnt believe for no reason at all...

So im just wondering. why not read others answers/opinions and state your facts, instead of turning a blind eye to anything they say and just trying to degrade them... they may well have a valid point.

I dont want people telling me that" people should me more open minded... how true. yay..."... Bullshit.

I want people who ARENT open minded to come and answer this. because i KNOW you have a reason for your views and opinions... and i want to know. Dont insult me. teach me. it may that you are correct and there is NO reason to be openminded at all..

so let the lesson commence...

Shame

All surrouding nations would be united against Israel (Psalm 83:4-8; Zechariah 12:2) This never happened in history. Yet, today Israel is surrounded by Muslim natioons sworn to destruction. Muhammed said: The hour (last day) will not come until you fight with the Jew, and the stone behind which the Jew will be hiding will say. O' Muslim! There is a Jew hiding behind me, so kill him'" (Sahih Al-Bukhari,vol.4,b. 52, Hadith #177).

And this,

Iran (Persia), Sudan (Cush), and Libya (Put) would also partake in the attack on Israel (Ezekial 38. Anti- Semitism in hte Islamic world is rampant. According to the Koran and Hadith, Muslims are commanded to fight and slay non-believers in Jihad (holy war) unless tehy convert to Islam (Surah 9:5 and 47:4 vol. 1, b. 2, Hadith #24 and 35)

What is your opinion on this?

I've seen multiple posts saying that it is wrong for Christians to worship on Sunday, and that the Catholic Church changed the Sabbath to Sunday in the 4th century. My question is: Do you guys bother to actually read the Bible, or confirm those anti-Catholic ramblings? There are two BIG things wrong with these accusations:

1. The Catholic Church specifically says that Sunday is NOT the Sabbath. Section 2175 of the Catechism states: "Sunday is expressly distinguished from the sabbath which it follows chronologically every week". Sunday is the "Lord's Day", the first day of the week, and the day that Christ rose from the dead.
(source: http://www.usccb.org/catechism/text/pt3sect2chpt1art3.htm#2174 )

2. Scriptures show that Sunday was the day for the breaking of the bread (i.e. communion): Acts 20:7, for example, says: "On the first day of the week we came together to break bread." (source: Bible)

From what I can tell acting white, according to "black leaders" and rappers means proper speech, proper attire, good grades, good job, love for America, desire to succeed, married with intact family, "can do" attitude, non-victim mentality etc.
Am I a racist or is the "black community" morally bankrupt??

I feel really uncomfortable dropping in on people without calling first. So I don't understand why people do this.
Practically, it is not the best thing to do because what if the person you want to visit is not home, or they have guests for dinner, or they're sick?
Perhaps I'm just self conscious, but calling first just seems the polite and thoughtful thing to do, even for relatives.
What do you do?
