I don't know if they would be classified as "mistakes" but Waco and Ruby Ridge come to mind. Also, there were "mistakes" in the 60's during the civil rights movement involving white freedom fighters in the south but those incidents didn't involve police shooting into crowds indiscriminately. There were also college riots - Kent and OK. There were some instances of brutality involving hippies during the 60's as well but I don't think anyone was shot. Nothing else really comes to mind.
Alex, your point is well taken and I agree with it to a certain extent but to deny the fact that the police have a history of violence regarding certain groups is to deny history. We can't move forward and have respect for each until we understand how we got to this point and until both sides (black and white) accept some hard truths without qualifying them with a lame "well, everyone was oppressed at some point" or "I could have succeeded in life if not for...." The type of revisionist/PC history that you're advocating does more harm than good.
Kate V. - you mean "you hate to HEAR blacks complain about whites?" How about we just complain about your poor grammar?

Of course not. I read about a study done with police of all races. It was a video game. They were to shoot the person if they pulled out a gun and leave them alone if they did not. They had a choice between a white man and a black man. More often than not, they shot the black man without even checking to see if he had a gun and they hesitated before shooting the white man, even if he DID have a gun.
It's PC to say "Everyone's equally treated here" but it's reality to say "No, there is racial profiling and police will not hesitated to kill a black man."
I searched for the link to the study that I cited but I couldn't find it.

1. mistakenly? how about tragically..because...its hard to say that anybody regardless of color became the victim of gun cleaning.
2. How about the college riots of the 60's...I think it was Oklahoma state. something like 7 dead if my old brain remembers right.
3. Be very suspicious of a teacher that dwells on this specific example of racism. I smell an agenda.
You look at any race or nationality of people and you will find examples in history when their culture was the victim, and the oppressor. That really should be the lesson of history.

You won't find that. It don't happen. You can get thirty white men with knives and the only thing the cop would do is pepper spray them. Get on brotha with a snickers bar in his hand and thirty cops will start shooting and swear that it was a gun.

No i do no longer think of he must be fired. He exchange into performing interior the regulation whilst he referred to a guy (race beside the point) pointing a gun at yet another guy (returned race beside the point). The gunman exchange into no longer identifiable as a police officer, and refused the officer's instructions. Tragic what got here approximately, yet no longer homicide and not something to do with race. Please tell me how this officer ought to have been able to "differentiate Black Criminals and Black regulation Abiding voters" given the circumstances of what got here approximately?

Good question, but it should be taken in context of the time and situations. Not that either excuses or rationalizes it, just that it helps to understand why.
A good follow on question is to determine if there are more or less incidents of Police firing into groups of people of any race.

Waco.
I live 20 minutes from Waco and that was horrendous.
The police, swat and FBI opened fire on men, women and children.
Google Waco and you will have an essay!

NO, that only happens to blacks because the majority of cops are white and if there are any black cops with them they are uncle toms. I believe that alot of KKK members purposely become comes so that they could have an excuse to kill black people and get away with it.
