Maybe this is an upper class thing.

In my life I've known very few people like those you describe.

Some people just have only the one value: money.

Clueless, aren't they?

I don't consider such people to be worth worrying about.

Most people live in the material world. they have lost touch with who they are and put up a wall of money and things to keep others away.
I live in Vegas 6 months per year and in Europe the other 6 months. My husband and I work hard just 6 months per year and play the other 6 months.
We can only afford old, used cars in the US since we only use them to get to work and go shopping.People look at us like we are insane,we dress nice but get out of a beat up car. I just ignore them and know I can have a free life half a year and not care what anyone thinks. They are slaves to the things they own. We are free.

Becuase that is the way socitey is. I do not agree with it either, and am very embarrased by it. If you look real hard, you will see that the majority of the people with big houses, and fancy cars can't afford them. Its all on credit.

I suppose it is human nature for most people to judge others; however, I do not think it is right and I try not to. As far as myself, it really doesn't bother me what others think of me. I am just me every day.
