No. I'd still have to slaughter animals for forgiveness of sins!

Seriously, Christians can still learn from the Jews. After all they are our spiritual ancestors.

There is a great misconception here that the religion of Yeshua was Judaism. It obviously was not, since the New Testament it full of examples of His confrontations with the religious leaders of the Jews of His day, not necessarily over doctrinal issues but definitely over practice. Indeed He tells His followers to do as they teach but not do as they do.

The Law of God is not, per se, a Jewish Law. Jewish Law is contained in Talmud and Midrash. Much like the Catholic Catechism contains their church law. The Law of God was given to an entire nation, Israel. The Jews are only a small part of that nation.

Did Yeshua follow the religion of the "Old" Testament? Absolutely! Was He ethnically a Jew? Positively! Is learning the Law and the Prophets and following the applicable commands it contains necessary for a Christian? Absolutely!
Does following the Law of God conflict with the concept of grace? Not at all! There is a cause and effect relationship between Law and Grace. Can't have one without the other. The Law convicts us of sin, grace forgives those transgressions. Does that mean we should sin willfully? No, all the NT writers unequivocally reject that concept.

So, should Christians become more "Jewish" to be more like "Jesus"? No, they need to become more Christ-like and live lives obedient to God as He did.

How could this be when the vast majority of Jews do not except Jesus as Lord and Saviour?
Those who are Messianic Jews are the true vine and we Christians are grafted onto this vine but we are not and can never be Jews, it is a fact that Jewishness is not so much a religious identity but more of a national concept today.

Jesus was Jewish. The Catholic church was started 60 - 70 years after he died - correction to pappy.

As a knowledgable Jew, I say - No, a Christian should stay a Christian. But be a G-d fearing one, and check out the 7 Noahide laws that are applicable to all mankind - things like having a viable legal system, not stealing, etc.

If we became jews we wouldn't be christian. Jews don't believe that Jesus is the messiah. If you don't believe Jesus is the Messiah then you aren't born again. If you aren't born again you won't go to heaven. I will become more like Jesus if I am a Christian. Following his commandments and adhering to his teachings makes me more like him.
