And you people say that we have double standards. How many of you have the backbone to see what is really going on in your little two faced world.

Disclaimer: I am not a Christian.

But yes, you're right--maybe not about the attitudes of specific people on R&S, but definitely about what happens in schools.

I know of specific instances that have happened to the children of friends & neighbors, where both pagan ideas and Islam have been taught. And of course there's the public school in NY with the Muslim prayer room...

but G-d forbid anyone should say anything about the Christian religion!

Please understand that I really don't want my kids to have to hear about Christianity in schools, and that kind of thing was pervasive when I was growing up. But political correctness has taken over to such an extent that those who most decry talking about one religion can't even see the hypocricy when they teach about another.

As far as college campuses--I'm personally very familiar with that situation. I am an older returning student, and the words "academic freedom" have come to mean not intellectual honesty, not the pursuit of knowledge, but the wholesale license for professors to ceaselessly inflict their beliefs on their students. And often they grade accordingly.

Students aren't learning facts anymore. G-d forbid they should hear two sides of an issue, particularly if that issue involves Islam or the Middle East! I've sat in poly-sci classes while professors have told blatant untruths about events in recent history that I REMEMBER WELL--and know didn't happen that way. And the 19-year-old students bend their heads over their notes and never realize that they're hearing something that isn't the Gospel.

And heaven help the poor student who challenges that professor, or asks a question based on Judeo-Christian values.

And I've been attending relatively small state schools in Texas. I can't imagine what the situation is like in larger schools in more liberal states!

Schools aren't a place for prayer rooms, or religion, period. Colleges aren't places for indoctrimation, but for rigorous intellectual inquiry.

At least that's how it should be.

Religion in school should be limited to comparative or survey of religions classes where all (most, all is a lifelong study) are presented in a respectful manner. Religion should also play a part in history, but only as a framework for the particular civilization that is being studied, so when looking at Greek history the Greek religion could provide insights into motivations and limiting factors.

Creationism and Intelligent Design should not be taught as valid science, if anything they could be presented as how a little understanding can make "reasonable" sounding theories that actually make no sense whatsoever.

In Britain the situation is interesting. For about 100 years Christianity was incorporated into schooling with prayers, hymn singing and Bible instruction. Around the 1980s this was phased out and Religious Studies introduced. We are now at the point where multicultural religiosity is an academic study that is designed to avoid encouraging any child to become devoted to any religion. (And school assembly with religious elements has gone forever.) Children are supposed to respect all other faith (and non-faith) systems.

Unfortunately facts don't engender respect or a relationship with the living God. Largely godless British children have never been so guilty of truancy, disrespect and violence to teachers and other pupils, bullying is endemic in school, knives are even being brought into school with slash-proof materials now going into blazers. The really sad thing is that the adults in charge are unable to put one and one together here and come up with two.

Why do you guys feel so insecure when Muslims are treated well. Where is your tolerance. Muslims HAVE(compulsory) to pray 5 times a day and It's very respective of the Universities to provide such accommodations. Christians don't HAVE(not compulsory) to pray 5 times a day. You guys usually do it on Sunday, right? Don't worry! You guys just love speculating. Stop thinking that every Muslim which prays is gonna end up becoming a terrorist. Is this 1st world mentality?

Quote: "So, why is this? It would not make any experience. and don't yet a butt hollow approximately it because of the fact i visit merely checklist you." checklist me, suka; for sure you dont choose solutions. some Christians have a bad attitude while it is composed of non-Christians. They push their faith on others, even while advised that they don't seem to have an interest. you're very judgemental your self. different religions seem dumb? And yours isn't? Please, you have somewhat some getting to know approximately different individuals and faith to do. And for the checklist, i'm an Asatruar. area of meaning I strongly help freedom of (and from) faith. i think in freedom with own duty. Hell, i might even combat to shelter your perfect to submit provocative 'questions' which includes this one.

Some of us have been aware of what's been going on. It's big on the college campuses too.
Pretty much yes, the muslims seem to be getting to have their religion in place where they want it.
Double standard? Yes.
God is forced out, and their allah is put in.

um, what? Wow, i really like your accusatory tone. *cough*

Actually, i'd rather NO religion be taught in schools, unless you choose to learn about them in a religion class. And that includes ALL religions, even Chrisitianity.

Ok. So did that burst that little bubble floating around your precious little head?
