How is religion now any different from mythology from ancient times?
Like the bible(not to single out chrstinity or anything) if your read it in a literary or historical, not religious manner, it is just like that of Greece and Rome, And Egypt, etc (besides being monotheistic).
Just wandering how you justify this to be true but can completely deny the others, when your main religious documents are so much alike!?!?!

What can be more boastful then to declare you are guaranteed heaven ????

Who says you cant be boastful of your faith ?

Telling others that they will burn in hell unless they adopt your interpretation of faith is outright arrogance.

Everytime a Protestant chides a Catholic or Mormon......... it is the height of boasting.

Is it wrong to pray that bears maul my seventh grade orthodontist? Here’s why I ask. The first thing Elisha does as a prophet is heal some water. The second thing? Bear attack.
Check out 2 Kings 2:

23 As he was walking, some youths came out and jeered at him. “Go on up, you baldhead!” they said.” 24 He turned around and called down a curse in the name of the LORD. Then two bears came out of the woods and mauled forty-two of the youths.

Can you imagine if God still operated that way? Man, I would abuse that. I can see myself getting frustrated by a teenager on his cellphone in the middle of a movie. Without asking him to be quiet, I’d mutter under my breath, “God, bears please.”
How many bears would I launch during my commute? Cut me off, here’s a bear. Rode up the breakdown lane, how about a bear? Gave me the finger? Three bears.

I would be bearing people all day. Which is why God won’t give me access to them. He knows I’m a jerk and would abuse the blessing of attack bears.

I couldn't sleep last night. I kept thinking about school and money and everything. When I got up to walk around, clear my head, the Bible was on the floor, like it had fallen off my shelf, but I didn't hear it.
Is this a sign from God?

I am a Muslim woman. I've studied Islam for 10 years now. I also study it everyday. I see an accusation by others or something negative, I do the research and find it's always been taken out of context. And this is exactly what the Quran says, that we as Muslims are to question everything. Only by questioning can you understand anything.

Here is what I'm wondering. When do you think the terrorists will wise up and realize that it's all politics and they should stop using the name of Islam to do these things? When will they wake up and demand that their leaders, who have lied about 72 virgins being given in Heaven to those who do this despite the Quran not saying a single thing about 72 virgins or anything sexual in Heaven, go out and do the same?

Shouldn't the terrorists who are being brainwashed, upon being told to kill themselves and other innocent people, demand that the "leaders" demanding they do this do it themselves first since they believe so strongly in it?

I've noticed that some gay people really don't like bisexuals for some reason. Why is that? I am bisexual. I believe it is possible to be attracted to both male and female. I enjoy sex with both. So why do some gay people not like bisexuals?

It clearly says the MAN is the head of the WOMAN and even compares it to Christ being the head of the church! How can you just ignore this verse???

Ephesians 5:22 Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.

Ephesians 5:23 For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.

Why do Christians whine when another requests the same rights they enjoy?
Why do they claim equality as persecution?
Why do they claim freedom from their belief being forced on our kids persecution of them?

Hidden in what we know, but can't practice with stem cell research, which may be the cure to cancer, AIDS and a host of other debillitating illnesses-do you think Bush would change his stance on this issue if it was his wife, or daughters who were suffering(God forbid)? What about you die-hard Christian fundamentalists? What if it was YOUR loved one suffering from MS or Parkinson's? Would you change your mind then? Should religion get in the way of saving lives? I mean, isn't God the one who gave these scientists/doctors the ability to come up with ways to prolong our lives, anyway? Thoughts, please?

What's your take on this? Does it say anything new to you?

"Support for suicide bombings and other violence against civilians dropped sharply in recent years in five Muslim countries, according to polls released Tuesday.

The 2007 Pew Global Attitudes Project survey found drops of more than half in Bangladesh, Indonesia, Lebanon and Pakistan since 2002. Support dropped by nearly half in Jordan and somewhat less than that in Tanzania and Nigeria. Turkey's change was within the margin of error.

Lebanon saw the steepest decline. Whereas 74 percent saw suicide bombings and other violence against civilians as a justified means of defending Islam in 2002, the number dropped to 34 percent this year.

The polling was done in April and May, either face to face or by phone. The margin of error was 2 to 4 percentage points, depending on the country.
