Looks like we have the two YA Gay Cops answering the question. See, this is what I am talking about when it comes to gay sesction regualrs who ruin it for everybody else with their "i own this section" attitude. if you don't like the question - don't answer it.

Early in my YA career I used to ask that - then I realized that when I ask questions it is the people in THIS areas opinions I value the most so I post here. I even had one guy call me out on YA saying. "this guy always posts in GLBT section how sad is he?" it hurt my feelings a bit but I thought well how sad is he to have went through all my q and a checking to see where I post??

I enjoy this section and I will post in this section and you do the same.

I do wish YA would allow the question to post in two areas so you could compare and contrast answers against two different mindsets.

why is this question in this section?
(^ sarcasm for those unable to recognise it)

i ask, because i don't see the relevance to this category, which means either:

a) i'm missing the point of the question, which means that you need to re-word it properly, thus allowing people to understand and better answer your question.

or b) that the asker has misplaced the question, and serves as a reminder for the next question they ask, to be placed in a better category, helping them to get better answers, and to help answerers see only the questions relevant to the forum they're browsing in.

though note, i -always- answer the question when i reply, i never just say "wrong section" without answering, that'd just be rude.

-edit-

it's also part of the community guidelines

"Put your question where it belongs. Categorise your question correctly. Placing your question in the right category helps it be seen by people who can give you better information and more accurate answers. Yahoo! Answers is available in many countries and language, so find the right one for your location or language."

-edit 2-
actually, i like sparkles, and haven't given thumbs up OR down, but you wouldn't have known that.

additionally, the guy with the presents question? he can relate that to LGBT. just as when i asked a question "what's your favourite animal" in the LGBT section, i related it to LGBT, i wanted answers from LGBT people.

if you don't want answers, dont ask questions, not the other way around.

Huh?

I'm not sure what you're asking.

Are you talking about the Questioners or the Respondents?

When a question is seriously miscategorized, it's usually just a friendly reminder that the Questioner's question would be better served in a more appropriate category.

Many times questions are posted in THIS category mistakenly. Questioners are too lazy to actually pay attention to where their question will be posted and it's quite annoying to sift through the questions that simply don't relate to the category.

Here is a thought, the question has no relevance in the LGBT section to begin with, like the one about the verb or whatever.
