"Saved through grace not works" defies the Torah's directions to accept personal responsibility and consequences (restitution and sacrifical penalties) for your sins and actually make every effort to do good in the world because it's a responsibility, not just frosting on the christian theological cake.

"Saved by grace" is not a superior theology to "Saved by effort". It requires no personal growth and offers the world no antidote to evil.

We may be SAVED by grace but works are the FRUIT of salvation.

In Romans Ch. 6, it explains that God's grace is NOT an open invitation for us to sin as much as we want to just because Jesus' blood washes sin away but, as it says in 1 John 2:1 that if we do stumble from time to time (not continually) we have an advocate with the Father.

Grace is a (gift) to us through the holy spirit and it shouldn' t be taken for granted. Also a very commonly misinterpreted scripture and depends on how a person has been taught to perceive it.
Look at Psalms 11:7 "The Lord is just and loves just (deeds)", the psalmist says, and "the upright shall see his face". God loves justice and is just so we can't just believe grace is sufficient, its because of our love for God that we aim to please him in everything we do via stewardship or works. Gods grace is there for us to help transform us. But if you just count on grace alone and not change the self it is about you and not God. 1 peter 15-16 says Be Holy because I (am) holy.
Certainly our faith in Christ's power to transform us is essential to our salvation by God's grace. But a mere intellectual assent to the truths of the gospel is not enough. Scripture insists that faith of itself, if it does not have works, is dead. James 2: 14-26

God rewards the good works we do, works that he himself has made possible see Mt 16:27; 25:31-46
To the obedient, he promises, I will show the salvation of God Psalms 50:23

No, humankind is unable to evolve or be saved without God's grace; it is a prerequisite to salvation. Additionally, humans cannot exchange good deeds for it. It is a free gift from God. Thus, humankind is saved all by grace and not by some combination, mixture, or blending of good works and divine grace. Were it achieved by works, humankind could take pride in their efforts toward holiness. More broadly, divine grace refers to God's gifts to humankind, including life, creation, and salvation. More narrowly but more commonly, grace describes the means by which humans are saved from original sin and granted salvation. This latter concept of grace is of central importance in the theology of Christianity, as well as one of the most contentious issues in Christian sectarianism. Grace is often distinguished from mercy in that mercy is seen as not receiving punishment that one deserves to receive, whereas grace is receiving a positive benefit that one does not deserve to receive.

Apostle Paul declares in Ephesians 2:8-9; with unmistakable emphasies that ''By geace are ye saved through faith'' Here he dispels any notion that salvation is in any sense of ''ourselves,'' and asserts its gratuitous character as a gift of God This text is of the highest importance in determining the cause of men's salvation. The satement in Ephesians 2:8 is made from the premise that man is dead in trespasses and sins [v1], and a child of wrath by nature[v3],hence unable to help himself out of his misery under sin.

My friend, those words "saved through grace, not works" mean that no one, no not one deserves it except Jesus. They mean that one can not pay for the salvation for Jesus did pay it already and thus it is free. under the specific specified conditions.

no, but its a good thing to live it more than just have the knowledge of it.
Its all about Jesus and the Salvation of others through Him.

My testimony is the only way to show someone what He has done for me.

Grace means it is nothing you or anyone can do. Salvation is free. It is all about God. Not man. God's goodness leads us to repentance.

It has always confused me that they question our morals when their dogma revolves around the fact your actions are worthless and only faith saves you. Talk about justification to do anything you want. Just believe in jesus and that family you murdered will be forgiven. It is truely sickening

No, not at all. Our salvation is NEVER about us and how good we are. The salvation is about what Jesus did and what He offers to us, and how we relate to His offer. He asks us to follow Him, but our salvation is not about our performance.

Christianity is about relationship with the living God. God asks us to love Him with all our hear, and to love others too. He asks us to do good even though we are not saved by our works.
