Yes, it could be study guides or religious books. He can speak to us in many, many ways besides books. You just have to notice the message when you get it.

God reveals himself in two kinds of revelations. The revelation that is the universe... this glorifies him. And the revelation in words in which there is glorification to God and a guidance for mankind.
Over the years... A number of books of revelation were sent to mankind through the prophets... A new prophet had to keep comming because the books of revelation were ignored, changed or lost.
Moses, Abraham, Jesus, etc... And most recently Muhammad with the revelation of the Qur'an.
When you search for God, never leave your mind behind you and be careful not to be lead by your desires.
The final revelation to mankind is the Qur'an... it is a confirmation to what came before it and a correction of what was corrupted. It is a guidance you can accept with all you mind and your heart.
Not like with the christian issue of the mystery of the trinity etc... or the jewish problem of some small tribal and unjust God.
With the Qur'an, there is no ambiguity on the nature of God like you have between the man written and changed old testament and new testament.
It is clear and straight forward. It is a guidance.
You ask can God speak to us... He has spoken to us... in the revelations...
He is closer to us than our jugular veins (mentioned in the Qur'an).
Whenever we call, he listens.

God's Holy Word is the Bible. We shouldn't use any other book in place of it. Sometimes I read books to help me find things in the Bible, like a study guide or something, but, never in place of the Bible itself. God has already spoken. It's all in His Book! God Bless

Of course. God never stopped speaking. Honestly, think about it, how much sense does it make that God would speak to man from the beginning, and just suddenly stop and fall silent for the last 2,000 years? God is the same now as He was then...so yes, he continues to speak.
Besides, the Bible was compiled by men, men who chose which of the prophets' words to keep and which to leave out. It did not fall fully formed from the sky. Doesn't it make sense that perhaps it doesn't contain everything God would have you know?
You can find truth in many places. Pray to find it, then go looking.

Yes, The book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ. It prophesies of things that will happen in these days. Some have already happened, some are still to come. Also, it may not be in a book, there is personal revelation.

God does not speak. Stories of speaking God r made for ignorant people. People blind to God preach such stories to another group of blinds.
God directs life of every one through inner voice. Everyone is born with this faculty. Most get dump to it by persistently dis-obeying it.
Wise help people to get the faculty to listen to that inner voice.
