I've noticed that some gay people really don't like bisexuals for some reason. Why is that? I am bisexual. I believe it is possible to be attracted to both male and female. I enjoy sex with both. So why do some gay people not like bisexuals?

I think because a lot of people think you're either gay or straight, not both. Because bisexuality kind of implies a "choice".

It's still not a choice though, because I think some people are 100% gay, some are 100% straight and some like both sexes.

It confuses a lot of people when making the argument that being a gay is inborn because homophobic people always bring up the issue, "Well, what about bisexuality?!" and they don't stop to consider that bisexuality is not a simple choice either... you can't help being attracted to both sexes.

It is possible to be attracted to women and men. I'm bisexual too and I have come across this as well. I think some gays don't like us because (I don't know if you have ever heard this terminology) of the perceived "heterosexual privilege". In other words, if we were to be involved in a same sex relationship we may want to leave because we want to be with a member of the opposite sex, get married have kids etc. as this life would be easier in an opposite sex relationship as opposed to a same sex relationship. Another reason is some people view us bisexuals as sleazy, easy, sleep with anyone with a heart beat orgy loving sex maniacs that wouldn't be able to stay monogamous for 5 minutes! There are a lot more stereotypes running around out there about bisexuals and if you are like me you get angry when you hear people say them. I have been in a monogamous relationship for 3.5 years and I'm loving it.

Yeah, sometimes (not all the time) I feel that it is the GLT section and the B is just somewhere over in the corner. Not all people feel that way thankfully ;)

Ok...I hear this same kind of thing all the time. I personally take NO issue with anyone's sexuality, no matter what it happens to be.

I just don't know if I have experienced or noticed any of this hate towards our bisexual brothers and sisters. I see the occasional troll comment, but that's it.

If there are gay people that have a problem with the B in the LGBT...they need to look to see that we are all in the same boat together. I just can't believe that people that have been oppressed for SO long would take issue with others that are facing the same thing.

I think a lot of people feel threatened....like they might not trust where your loyalities lay. Like what I if I fall for you hard and then next week you decide you want to be with a girl? How would I compete with that, I couldn't and you would do what you need and I would get hurt.

Now I KNOW that being bi doesn't mean you are a cheater but I also know I simply cannot quench the thirst you might have.

This is very hard to put into words because I certainly don't want to offend anyone but I also feel I should answer honestly or I am not really being any help.

Some think being bisexual is a cover up for being gay.

Many gay men especially the younger ones. Have had horrific experiences with bisexual men. They are usually older married bi men looking for a piece of *** on the side. Looking to use the gay man. Once these people meet a bisexual who isn't trying to use them, they realize there is nothing to hate.

I've gotten accused of:

Lying about being gay
Undecided about my sexuality
Affraid to admit to being a full-on lesbian
Playing around with lesbians and being dishonest.
Being a fake lesbian
or Being a "lesbian for a day."

when I tell somone I'm bisexual.

These accusations couldn't be further from the truth, but there are those straight girls who have played around with other gals and pretend to be gay but revert to being straight when the man they were attempting to make jealous pays them more attention.

Those girls give us REAL bisexuals a really bad reputation.

I'm honestly Bi-sexual. I can't pretend to be something I'm not. I can't turn off my being able to be attracted to BOTH genders at will and I have NEVER used being bisexual as a ploy to attract the opposite sex.

As a Bi Guy, I feel that the rest of the community views bisexuality as cop-out for still being straight.

Like the compulsive smoker that claims "I can quit when I want to." Even though, everyone who knows him says he would never quit even if his life depended on it.

I guess some people view it on the same level as the "I'm on top, therefor I'm not gay" Phenomena

some gays insist that bisexuals betray them by not coming out as fully gay. Not their call, nor can we change bisexuals
