Hidden in what we know, but can't practice with stem cell research, which may be the cure to cancer, AIDS and a host of other debillitating illnesses-do you think Bush would change his stance on this issue if it was his wife, or daughters who were suffering(God forbid)? What about you die-hard Christian fundamentalists? What if it was YOUR loved one suffering from MS or Parkinson's? Would you change your mind then? Should religion get in the way of saving lives? I mean, isn't God the one who gave these scientists/doctors the ability to come up with ways to prolong our lives, anyway? Thoughts, please?

@coffee pot 12- What you are talking about is prevention, NOT cures. Yes, in a perfect world, super insects wouldn't wipe out whole crops of wild veggies, fruits, etc. and we wouldn't need pesticides. In a perfect world, marketing focus groups wouldn't exist to prove we consumers go for the bigger, brighter, shinier produce and leave the rest to rot-making a need for them to inject hormones into our foods. I could go on forever with this-but you get the point.
More importantly, you talk about how in the olden days, our ancestors didn't die of cancer and these other diseases we have today-you're right! We died at the ripe old age of 25 back then from things like simple infection and the common cold. Which just proves my point that science and modern medicine has a rightful place in this society and not living like the Amish, thankyou....
