Yes it is! Mostly because a person will be missed or doesn't want to go. Even if they past on quite calmly they will leave people behind in pain (in most cases if not all). This is no account for the person who knows they are about to past an just don't want to go. They tend to make in mentally painful on themselves and others. As long as we have no say so in the form, fashion, or time death will always be associated with painful states.

Dying isn't necessarily painful. If you were hit by a meteor, for example, you'd be vaporized before you even realized what was happening. And that could happen in the next second, to anyone.

Where did you get that statement from? We all die, every human and living thing on earth, and sometimes we get sick and have pain when we die. I understand that at the moment of death the person gets peaceful and looks content and happy. Many people who look after themselves physically and mentally, live to a ripe old age and just pass over in their sleep. If one looks after our body and our spirit, there is no need to die in pain. These days, also hospitals make sure that people do not die in pain. Do not be afraid to die! it is moving on to another adventure, in another place.

Death is painful because the eternal spirit soul is placed in a most unnatural situation: although he is eternal and should not have to die, he is forced to die because of his connection with the material body. At death, the eternal soul is forced to leave the body for a destination he knows not. Thus he is full of fear and suffering. The pain and fear are usually overwhelming, and one thinks only of material attachments or bodily pain.

Pain is how we know there is something wrong with our bodies. Be it an ear ache that we need antibiotic for or you are touching something hot. When you are dying, your body is telling you something is wrong but there is nothing you can do about it. So there is the pain and the panic
