-Is an atheist myself.- Alright- Let's see...Atheists are usually interpreted as "A person who believes there is no god" right? Even if that's not the ACTUAL definition, that's what people get out of it.- Now I think that is incorrect. I think a better definition of atheist is "One who rejects the existance of any currently or previously worshiped deity". Or somethin' like that...Here's why.-

An atheist doesn't make the assertion that there IS no god. We simply don't believe in any that have been brought to our attention yet. You can't prove there is no god, you can't prove (or..disprove) a negetive. I also can't prove there is no bigfoot, that doesn't mean there is one. I can't prove there isn't an invisible pirate selling honey buns in outter space, but that doesn't mean there is one. See? We can only disprove 'evdence' in favor of god as it comes to us. I'm sure if atheists were confronted with evidence for a god, that we couldn't deny, there would be far less of us, right?

I saw, a man lose his when he spoke out against the will of God,and where the Lord had placed him. He had a ministry. you know the anointing and when it is on a person. There is an anointing on a person when he is in the will of God, or doing the will of the Father in obedience.

Would you say that America is crumbling rapidly because of its lack of a moral backbone?

I think the belief that morality as a "true for me, true for you" concept really isn't working, ja?

This way of thinking exists here all because of people who know the universal truth of morality, but refuse to accept it (or ignore it) due to their own selfish immoral ambitions. Those who wish to change can and will change. Some DISEASES exist just because of centuries of SEXUAL immorality.

(To you radical Atheists, no I am not saying "God" is the universal truth, or I would have made a direct reference rather than beating around the bush. Just a future FYI to prevent some fluff on this Q. I have no religion and draw my conclusions from logic and nature itself.)

What say you?

Our not-for-profit got a self-proclaimed Christian a job. The agency he worked for was going to pay him directly but was late in paying. We advanced $3K with assurances Christian would pay it back. He was paid six months ago, no payment to us. He doesn't return my calls.
Will you please join me in asking Jesus to touch his heart and bank account and begin to pay at least $50.00 per month. Our budget is tight and our staff has to defer our salaries each month due to cash flow problems of our own.
Will you please pray that he does as Jesus would do and that he treat others as he has been treated; with kindness, empathy, honesty, fairness and concern?

I ask because of Cee T's answer to this question:

Is she acting as a True Christian™ when she picks and chooses (pick and choose... why does that sound familiar?) for whom she prays? Should her like or dislike of peoples' postings on an Internet forum determine for whom she'll pray?

And yes, I'll readily admit that I'm childish and couldn't wait for the question to be resolved so that I could point this out and she couldn't change her answer, lol! I think it's still a valid question, though.

If he willingly allowed himself to be killed, thats called suicide (suicide by police for example) and, according to all the holier than thou's I've had harass me, suicide is a sin. If he died unwillingly, it was simply a murder, not of his own choice and therefore useless for the Biblical purpose. Either way, to kill one person in order to forgive anothers transgressions is a totally asinine concept, so what's the diff? Wouldn't it have been easier to say "hit yourself with a hammer and you will be forgiven"? It'd be a lot more fun to watch too. :D

I broke a promise with Him. I keep having dreams about what I did to break that promise. ( I promised him i wouldn't do something and I did it). I keep worrying I'm going to hell and I can't take it. I feel like he's angry with me. I already asked for forgiveness but do you think I will go to hell?

My physics teacher believes in evolution, the big bang theory, the 4.5 billion year old Earth, the 13 billion year old universe, the whole bit. He is also a preacher at a Baptist church near my house. I always hear that the evolution-creation debate is an atheist-christian debate. My teacher blows that notion out of the water. He is a highly respected member of the community and has a PhD in theoretical physics. What evolutionists have a problem with, including my teacher, is not religion. It's this attempt to destroy the public school system with creationism that evolutionists like my teacher hate so much. My teacher said that belief in God should not influence the public school system. He told me that religion should stay seperate from the school system and that people need to respect others beliefs. I think if all people were like my teacher, this world would be a much better place.

I have often been told that Jesus Saves.

I feel that this does nothing to expand on your base though. Shouldn't He INVEST in us? I think the Gods worshipped by the various Pagans on R&S do just that.....

I asked for suggestions for christmas help, NOT a HANDOUT.
the answer really blew me out of the water for a couple reasons. I may be on disablity, but I still have TAXES taken out of it. for 30 years i have been a tax payer. I work odd jobs to compensate for what other things we need. I go to school at night in hopes to learn a new trade to work again and take care of my family, during the day i either run my husband over an hour away for cemo treatments or am helping him to just get up and take care of him daily. How do people assume that I am taking away their presious tax dollars when they dont know me. If I still have the government take taxes from my dis, checks and from my cleaning jobs you have no right to judge or complain. NOW>>> does anyone know of any christmas ideas or places I can go to get christmas for a teen without it costing me an arm and leg???

Both my parents (even though they are divorced) are Protestant and I am converting to Catholicism. PLEASE! When replying to this, don't rag on Catholicism or Christianity...

Anyways, my mom and I recently had a big arguement, and she has decided she is coming out to my place (she is flying out here next weekend) to discuss it with me and meet my boyfriend who is Catholic. She believes I am converting because of him. (which I am NOT)

I know I can't convince her that Catholicism is a good thing, but how can I manage being around her, and letting her meet my boyfriend, when she is so bitter and nasty about it? Any tips on dealing with it?

I think I'd go with the Jews. They help each other out AND they wear cool hats.

....when people say things like "I prayed to god that the boy I like would ask me out and he did!" Everytime I see things like that I just have to chuckle a little bit. One girl actually answered a question by saying that she prayed to god that she would have fun at camp and she did and then she prayed that some boy would ask her to some dance and he did! So obviously prayer works! Riiiiiiiiight....god just sits up in his LazyBoy deciding which boys will ask out which girls instead of worrying about world hunger and genocide and other things that actually matter.
