Is it good ole fashioned luck that our solar system has yet to be side swiped? Or did someone engineer it all?

Ecclesiastes 1:4
Generations come and generations go, but the earth remains forever.

Isaiah 66:22
“As surely as my new heavens and earth will remain,so will you always be my people, with a name that will never disappear,”

dont they want to visit different places, meeting different people? dont they need to experience new things?
how can a life be so empty, be such a waste that only believing in a higher entity (that may or may not exist) can give a purpose to it?

The whole "which came first, the chicken or the egg" ... I understand everyone has different views about it, such as:

Evolution, and God.

So, would your answer be the same for every animal that lays eggs? Say.. different kinds of birds. Or turtles. Or spiders. What about the only egg-laying mammal, the platypus? Would all of your answers be the same? Either evolution and/or God?

How can you convince somebody that God isn't real?

My friend told me that she convinced somebody's mother that God wasn't real and she felt bad afterwards because she felt like she had taken something away from her.

What reasons do you think she gave her, and what kind of argument do you bet she put up?

Is it all based on logic or other things too? What reasons could you give a person like that to change what they believe in such an effective way like this? What proof is there, if any?

I am not asking why YOU think God IS real. I just want to know exactly what I asked.

Thank you ahead of time, if you answer! ^_^

Just because it's not in the constituion word for word doesn't mean it's not law folks.
Engle v Vitale - 1962 - Seperation of Church and State

In the late 1950's the New York State Board of Regents wrote and adopted a prayer which was supposed to be nondenominational. The board recommended that the prayer be said by students in public schools on a voluntary basis every morning. In New Hyde Park Long Island a parent sued the school claiming that the prayer violated the first amendment of the constitution. The school argued that the prayer was nondenominational and did not attempt to "establish or endorse" a religion and thus that it did not violate the establishment clause.

The court ruled against the school district and upheld the establishment clause of the first amendment. Prayer in schools was to be considered unconstitutional.

Every Sunday morning, while eating breakfast with me at a local restaurant, my 80 year old grandma likes to sit back, smile, and squeeze out a stinky, egg fueled fart or poop in her Depends diaper. I know she looks forward to our visits but I dont know if I can handle her "crappy" behavior much longer. What should I do?

Well then, you don't know one ... single ... thing about what god, gods or forces might operate beyond this life, do you. So, the only honest and non BS thing for you to say about religion is "I ... DON'T ... KNOW."
Let me say it again. If you have not been dead and come back, you know NOTHING. To say anything else is a LIE. YOU are a LIAR. That goes for all of you: Wiccans, Christians, Buddhists, Jews, Muslims, Hindus, Indigenous, etc.

well, you should see the brazillian Y!A.. It gets much, much worse. Evangelical Christians are heavily (heavily) offended there all the time...

So i guess i'll stick around here practicing my english, i don't get as many best answers but at least most atheists here attack Christians with arguments rather than offenses, and i like that kind of attack.

So how is it been here lately?

Matthew 17:20
And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.

Wouldn’t you know now that the mountains moved?
How is it that faith without results has become a virtue?

If God doesn't exist...Why even bother....

If there's no heaven, no hell, no "afterlife", why even bother to carry on? I'm fairly sure that I'm driving against traffic on the road of life... I'll probably end up like those people under bridges.

If there is a God, then that gives life purpose... If there isn't...

All wealth and power will be destroyed by rust and moths, or stolen by thieves... Or just disappear when you die...

Why should I even bother living?
