Naa, sounds like you will be comfortable. What more could your hosts desire?

No, quite the opposite. I find it very rude when people come into my house and don't take their shoes off at the door, and most everyone I know feels the same way. Socks, or barefoot, that doesn't matter much, but shoes are impolite.
That said, if everyone else who is visiting the home has shoes on the entire time, you may want to leave yours on. Some people have different preferences.

In Japan it is required to remove your shoes before entering a home. If you do not it is extremely insultive. I know we are not in Japan, but it should not be considered rude here to be barefoot. Maybe some strange looks, but it sounds like you have no problem with that.

Wear flip flops and ask when you get there if it is ok with them to take off your shoes. I bet they do not mind if your feet are clean. It should not be a big deal. We had a house appraiser that wore Birkenstocks and asked if he could kick off his shoes while he was working taking our measurements in our house. We said "SURE!" and we all had a great time. Just relax and if they are shocked and say...."Um, NO! Keep your feet to yourself..." then do so and know that you are in the next best thing and suck it up for the party. Don't be a turkey about it.

Most definitely it would be rude. You may have a habit but it doesn't mean that you can forego good manners to perpetuate it. When you are at home or with friends and they don't mind, fine. Otherwise, observe protocol and be respectful. I wouldn't let someone in my house barefoot.

Not at all. You might get everyone there to take off their shoes and relax. The world would be a more peaceful place if we went barefoot more often.

No, not if you do not know the person, as you say. If at some point you become better acquainted and that person is on the same level as your others friends who accept you barefoot lifestyle, then go for it! But until then, cease, desist and put those shoes and stocking on your feet.

Yes I think it rude for someone to go barefoot at a strangers house. I dont take my shoes off at peoples houses unless they dont allow shoes in the house.
My dad has friends that go barefoot at his house and when Im there with them it just weirds me out. Its like I dont take my shoes off at my own dads house what the heck are you doing with your shoes off. Weird people...

I don't know if I can say it would be "rude", but it would surely be odd for me. If someone showed up at my house with no shoes on and knocked on my front door, I would let them in, but I would be wondering "what the heck?"...lol. I say, when in doubt, do what you KNOW is right. You KNOW wearing shoes wouldn't cause a problem...right? So wear shoes.

As long as you don't track in dirt, I would say it is fine.
I must say it bothers me when people come over and stomp all over my carpets in their shoes. Yet I feel rude as a host to ask them to remove their shoes, like i'm being fussy or anal. Oh well. That's my own issue, i guess. lol.
