Hey I'm a Muslim.

I looked at the other answers and almost all of them are accusing Islam of being a violent religion. I hope I can clarify the misconception.

Islam comes from the Arabic word, "salam," which means peace. This peace is acquired by submitting one's will to Almighty God. You cannot judge Islam because of the actions of a few people. For example, Timothy McVeigh, known as the "Oklahoma City Bomber," was a Catholic. Based on his actions, I cannot say that Christianity teaches people to blow up buildings and murder people. It is wrong to do that! I'm aware that people find some verses of the Qur'an to be violent, however, these people never look at the context of the verses. When you take verses out of context (which is happening quite often today), look at what happens! One can take verses from the Bible or the Torah, making them appear to be very violent books, filled with hatred, but that is not true! There are good Muslims and there are bad Muslims. There are good Christrians and there are bad Christians. There are good Jews and there are bad Jews. Violence is against every teaching of Islam. Also, no where in the teachings of Islam does it approve of terrorism. Islam is very peaceful and tolerant. The "Muslims" who are murdering innocent people and destroying families are only Muslims by name.

Please watch this lecture. It is by the brilliant Muslim scholar, Dr. Zakir Naik. The first minute and forty two seconds is just an introduction. The topic of the lecture is called, "Is terrorism a Muslim monopoly." Please watch! It is worth everyone's time.

I hope my answer has cleared up your misconception on Islam.

Thank you for your time.

short answer, they're the two incorrect. The Bible became written by ability of fellows, no longer God, they're ameliorations of religions that have existed considering guy first needed something. i'm no longer an atheist, i think in God, do exactly no longer think of i want any center guy, of any religious dogmatic persuasion to tell me if i'm a foul individual or a solid individual, if my soul is condemned and so on. those that placed lots time aggravating approximately who's good and incorrect pass over the actual ask your self of the universe, or quite the top of the iceberg it is our tiny universe. I vote - the easy faith of "Do Unto Others" works superb for all mankind. P.S. Handel's Messiah is hardly a stupid sounding church music, heh.

Hello . ok. here's the scoop. Christians believe in GOD but they pray to JESUS. Muslims believe in GOD and Pray to GOD.I think the problem is that Christians have turned Jesus onto their God. Remember when Jesus Was teaching his followers how to Pray?Remember the Lords Prayer?Jesus was telling them to pray To God.I think that they forgot that .And now the say everyone Else is going to Hell.Muslims pray to the same God that Jesus Prayed to.

The main reason is, Christians believe Jesus is the Christ while Muslims only recognize Jesus as a prophet.
