This is not designed to ridicule. Just curious. For the record, I don't believe in them.

The Bible says: "The dead know not a thing."
Ecclesiastes 9:5

Even the Atheists can believe that one.

No, i do no longer think in ghosts or souls. as quickly as we die, our brains end functioning, and we can't comprehend the version. EDIT: there is in many circumstances a huge difference between what we'd choose to be genuine and what certainty actually is. You asked if people have faith in ghosts. in case you needed people who have faith in ghosts to describe what they think of ghosts are, then you relatively would desire to have asked a distinctive question.

I am Christian and I believe in ghosts because I have had two encounters as a child. I note one of the answers is dismissive stating she doesn't believe in ghosts because they don't exist, a conclusion she reached predicated on her own experience of never seeing them...it is important to remember that just because you have not had your own experience, those of others should be taken into consideration. Just because one person never saw a ghost certainly does not mean they don't exist, that is not only ignorant it is arrogant.

Where I live, in Japan, people don't have a problem discussing their experiences with ghosts, so some of my students have told me their stories. One is a scientist doing his PhD about nano particles.

Of course it could be their imagination, but it's perfectly in line with what I believe - the Bible doesn't deny the existence of spirits.

Also, if you believe in God, then you do believe in other realms and won't have a problem acknowledging the existence of spirits.

I am an Atheist and I don't believe in ghosts. WHY? Because they don't exist.

As a christian, I believe in spirits (angels & devils). Logically there is a force of good & evil (God & satan), and both of them have spirits at their disposal. I would assume athiests do not believe in ghosts, because they do not believe in "other beings".

If you change the word to "Spirits".....then yes, this Atheist believes in a Spirit world.

Yes. Because I've seen them. I've had experience with them. And there's even some evidence they exist but not enough to say conclusively that they do.

Why?

I believe in ghosts....sort of....to be honest, it has so little added baggage and interpretation to them that they are more possible to exist in the vague pretense we have for them than God, who has improbable shoes to fill.
