If you really want to do the work, rather than learning bookkeeping and raising money, you should work for another place rather than start your own. Otherwise, you spend all your time filing paperwork and learning how audits work, things like that. Also, organizations don't magically give you money: you have to do a lot to earn it, and that's really tough. Better to work for a place that's already up and running than to start your own.
