If he willingly allowed himself to be killed, thats called suicide (suicide by police for example) and, according to all the holier than thou's I've had harass me, suicide is a sin. If he died unwillingly, it was simply a murder, not of his own choice and therefore useless for the Biblical purpose. Either way, to kill one person in order to forgive anothers transgressions is a totally asinine concept, so what's the diff? Wouldn't it have been easier to say "hit yourself with a hammer and you will be forgiven"? It'd be a lot more fun to watch too. :D

The whole concept is tantamount to me saying "my upstairs neighbor annoyed me, so I'll break the downstairs neighbors fingers". Just don't make a lick of sense, no matter how much you twist and "translate" it.

Suicide by Roman. I think the whole Jesus myth is far from the truth, but even if parts of it happened he most likely choose to die some kind of martyrs death.

Whew! I would love to answer your question with all kinds of facts, etc., but I am so mesmerized by your concept that I would not know where to start. I am not sure that even I have the words to give creedance to your question and answer it in its totality. And I am wondering if you really want an answer. Your last statement - makes me think that you are not serious about it.

I believe Jesus gave his life willingly. He even said that no man could take his life. The work that he did on the Cross is very, very serious to me. I do not take it lightly that in his human form, he had to suffer and die. His death was so that I would not have to die for my transgressions - that I, if I believe that he died, and rose, would be able to live eternally. The fact that I do believe, in my confession of this very act, I did die with him, the old man dies, and the new man is born into the spirit and never dies. I know this can be difficult to swallow or believe if you have no faith to believe it - but I thank God for Jesus and his obedience to his father. I don't know that I answered your question - but I do thank you for asking it. It causes me to be even more thankful and humble unto the Lord.

He was crucified willingly. His death wasn't what washes our sins away - it was His Atonement (of which His death was only a small part) which cleans us from our sins. You are right - a simple death can't get rid of a sin. Christ suffered (both in The Garden of Gethsemene and on the cross) for our sins - He endured that same punishment which we would have had to bear if we had not repented.

It is kind of like if a student did something wrong in an old school class. They would be hit with a padle. It is sort of like Christ offered to take that paddling for us so we wouldn't have to. Justice requires punishment for sin but mercy allows there to be a mediator - one who takes the punishment for the transgressor.

Kind of sounds to me like your mind is made up, so why ask the question? Jesus came into the world to forgive the sins of all mankind and satisfy Gods requirement for mankind to enter Heaven. ALL people sin and God decrees that a person can't enter Heaven while stained with sin. To make us clean from sin, to take our sins away, it took something (someone) perfect, someone who had never sinned. Think--If a person has a flat tire it means the tire is flawed, can't be used, and can't do the job it was intended to do. The only way to redeem, make the flat tire right again, is to get it fixed & get air in it again. Mankind is sinful and like the tire, can't do the job, live the life, we were intended to do. Sin has flawed us and made us ineligible for Heaven. Sin, being sinful, prevents a person from entering Heaven. By Jesus being holy, sinless, and taking our sin upon His perfect/sinless self, has made us right again. In effect, we have been fixed, no flaws, sinless. This is only possible through Jesus and we need to have faith in Him to receive it. Jesus knew He was going to give up His life to save us, but He didn't kill Himself. Jesus was tortured, nails driven into His hands and feet, pierced with a spear. Who kills himself by torture? Why not an easier and less painful way? Jesus didn't climb up on the cross, drive nails into His own hands and feet. He didn't kill Himself. He was killed by others and He didn't force them to do it. They did it because they wanted to. Jesus knew He was going to have to sacrifice Himself and die, but knowing of death doesn't mean He killed Himself. Someone (Jesus) dies to forgive you, to make you eligible for eternal life in Heaven, and you complain about it? Wow. That's greatful. You are freely offered the best thing you could ever get, and you're complaining ! If someone gives you a really nice birthday gift, do you complain about it? Or, do you thank them and show appreciation.? Please think about it.

Jesus Christ gave himself as a sacrifice.
He allowed the Romans to crucify him so that the scriptures could be fulfilled.
Jesus Christ fulfilled the Old Testament prophets' prophecies about a Messiah, in the things he did, and the way he died. Even the way he was born.

You missed the boat, it was willingness upon the will of God the Father...as Jesus asked that if it were the will of God that this cup (crucified) be passed , it could not be. For God to reconcile the world to himself he was the only sacrifice that could accomplish the salvation of the world. Humans are not capable. Therefore it was the ultimate sacrifice God made for his creation man. There is a big picture here, and you skipped art, too....Think about it....

Willingly.

You have faulty logic. Jesus didn't allow himself to be killed ... He just didn't interfere in the free will of the men, the conservatives of His day, who wanted Him dead. There's a big difference. Droll as the notion is, He did not commit suicide.

Your concept of His death is faulty too. God didn't send Jesus to live and die only to forgive our transactions: fundamentalists say that because the real theological truth is too complex for them -- they tend to be a bit lazy in the intellect. Jesus had to die because when He became human, He wanted to experience everything that we as humans experience -- including agony, dispair, suffering and death. When He did that, He showed us the boundless extent of His love and dedication to us.

When He became fully human and died then rose again, He opened the way for all of us mortals to do the same thing.

It was willingly and it was not suicide. What Jesus did was see that the one's He loved were guilty. That they had been sentenced to die. Because He loved them so much He said punish me instead of them. Let me die instead of them. It was not suicide. He laid down His life for those He loved. If a mother dives into a lake to say her drowning child and she drowns while saving him. Did she commit suicide? The answer is obviously no. That is what Jesus did for us. He died to save us.

The Holy Prophet of The God Almighty was not crucified at all, God Almighty save Him from Humiliation and raised Him alive to heavens.

The story given in todays Bible is total disgrace to Holy Prophet Jesus (pbuh), and God Almighty.
KJB and ANS versions:
Mark 15:34
"At the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, "ELOI, ELOI, LAMA SABACHTHANI?" which is translated, "MY GOD, MY GOD, WHY HAVE YOU FORSAKEN ME?""

If Jesus is God and God is Father , Son, and Holy Ghost, three in one then how come Jesus was calling himself, and asking help for this humiliation?
