I ask because of Cee T's answer to this question:

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Aow3J_eDs_BSddQZHlc_Mdrty6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20070914170528AAWW8YZ&show=7#profile-info-Qr317kQ2aa

Is she acting as a True Christian™ when she picks and chooses (pick and choose... why does that sound familiar?) for whom she prays? Should her like or dislike of peoples' postings on an Internet forum determine for whom she'll pray?

And yes, I'll readily admit that I'm childish and couldn't wait for the question to be resolved so that I could point this out and she couldn't change her answer, lol! I think it's still a valid question, though.

Ethically, I'd have to say everybody since if you are a Christian, you believe that God loves everybody, not just those whose posts meet with a certain standard.

I... I wasn't THERE!!

*Sobs inconsolably*

Hmm... let's see... *Thumbs through prayer list* Yep, there's Imacatholic2, David T., Cee T. (wonder if they're married? :-), Tuberoot, Jack P., eh... Steve B. Seeking Sal...

Oh, oh wait! That's my BLOCKED list! Oopsy!\

Lovely 'Zilla, I think it's much like the rest of the Bible. Far too many Christians choose what is literal and what is metaphorical according to their own prejudices. Take Deuteronomy for example. OT. Every line of it metaphorical. Except for ONE. The one about gays being an abomination. Even though (according to Christians) the OT god wasn't the Christian god, the OT was simply a framework for the NT and matters little because Jesus hadn't come of the Virgin to save us all yet, etc., etc., etc.

Oh My GAWD!! I just noticed that you've copyrighted the term "True Christian". LMAO!! How the HELL do you come up with them all??

As much as I distrust the True Christian™ as an entity, it pains me to think they think so little of us that they wouldn’t pray for us all unconditionally just as their ‘god’ loves us all unconditionally.
Woops – that’s right he doesn’t.
Woops – that’s right he doesn’t exist - maybe that’s where the problem *lies*.

I must admit I’m surprised the True Christian™ believes in the power of prayer seeing as starving, abused and dying children still exist in their millions.
I woulda thought any god worth his salt coulda worked out a kinder fate for those children instead of all the mental and physical pain they suffer.
I guess I’m not as good at selective belief suspension as the True Christian™ is.

I think they should leave everyone alone. The energies from their prayers cause headaches for one. If you are a "sinner" they pray against you. That is what the christians call witchcraft, controlling others and they do it through prayer.

"Prayer" has about 7 different meanings in the Bible.

Some folks pray like this "I pray that everyone will believe what I believe so that I will continue to believe what I believe and not be required to admit that I am wrong about what I believe."

"It is easy to pray or love the whole world, it is tough to love your next-door neighbor. "

ALL Christians should pray that ALL will come to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ, as He loves and died for the sins of ALL.

every man or woman has to work out their own salvation. what you sow you shall reap. don't think you will be saved by not doing the right or good things; people can pray for you but can't save your soul.

We should pray for all , but we do tend to lean to those we know first ., family friends etc .we should pray for neighbors that we don't see or know or for those in the floods of Indonesia etc

Hi Hugzilla,

I checked her list. Neither you nor I are on it, so WHEW! So far so good.

See you in handbasket land, and don't worry that she didn't want to pray for us. We don't want to play with her anyways, so neeener neeener and nya nya on her.

(sticks tongue out and raspberries the meanie girl)
