I've heard a few say that its cos they need to get away from their sterile and picture perfect environments and experience 'reality' in India's dusty and frenzied towns...so does one then infer that you cant experience your spiritual nature in quieter and organised
surroundings??

Do you think it's a wise practice, or is it simply hoarding food? Some countries (Germany) do not allow people to store food, at least beyond a week or so. What are your thoughts?

Here's a little game I invented a while back (I was bored).
It's intended to be highly amusing, so no offence to those who have recently been to a funeral, just a bit of fun to pass the time.

It's a little like word association. Think of a song with lyrics that can be reinterpreted to inject a little humour into any funeral.
Format it like this:

(circumstances of death)
Song Name - Artist

My first one to start with is:

(any circumstances)
Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go - Wham!

Two months ago my gf and I broke up because I betrayed her trust. I have really had a hard time with the break up. I never really realized how much I had loved her until it was over. I had a lot of issues of my own from a divorce I had went through about 2 years before meeting her that really affected my attitude in how I treated her and our relationship. Anyway, I have really gotten more involved with my church and it has made a huge difference in my life. It tears me up that I can’t ever go back and change things between me and her. To show her the love I always had for her and how much I admired her for the person she was. I really wished, prayed and had hoped that this change would have made a difference in my relationship with her. Sometimes though, things just don’t work out the way we want for them to. The positive thing is, it got me back on track with my faith in God and helped me to realize that I need him in my life more than ever

In the United States its obvious that the religious wrong is constantly manipulated for political gain.

All one has to do is give a little lip service to the Christ Cultists community, perhaps throw a little cash their way and you have an instant voter base. Sure they're idiots, but they're idiots who vote. Its no surprise that the masters of corruption (the GOP) are masters at this, not that the democrats are any different but they seem to have some semblance of whats right and wrong.

Then you have the actual religious leaders who run around with whores (not that theres anything wrong with that) and use their religious organizations as tax shelters for diamond mines in oppressive third world nations or ask for money because they claim their god will kill them if they dont meet some quota.

And sure enough they eat it up.

So whats the deal, are you stupid? Who am I kidding, sure you are.

Hello :)

If I pose a question more than once and obtain two different configurations of tarot cards, will these two readings, once interpreted, produce the same answer?

Another way of asking this might be, if I ask the same question twice, how can I explain two unique configurations of tarot cards?

I walk down a flight of stairs and open a door that leads me outdoors in to a clearing in the forrest with flowers and wheat. A little far off I see a deer, but as I approach it, I realize that it is a goat. It seems to represent all that is animalistic as opposed to humanistic. I then ascend upwards until I find myself above a blanket of cloud. I hear the sound of door knocking. I follow the sound and find a door by itself. I open the door and see a man in a white robe. I wonder to myself "Is this Jesus?" But then he walks out to reveal that he has the body of a horse. So, what do you think this means?

I need advice on how to encourage a friend of mine. She's a new Christian and is going through very difficult times right now: she gave birth to twin boys prematurely. The smaller of the two died, the larger (a whopping 2 pounds) isn't doing so well either. She also has cancer in her uterus, though it's likely that it won't be a huge issue. She's been involved in an awful lot of things she shouldn't have been involved in earlier, before she knew of God, and is one of those people who has been through pretty much everything unpleasant as a child. She believes in God, but I fear that her faith will be strongly influenced if not completely determined by the what happens to her son. Does anybody have any wisdom or advice on what I can possibly say to her to encourage her?

Went to the Lutheran church because it was so close to home. Did not particularly "think" about it being Lutheran because I didn't know the difference- had no real religious upbringing. Enjoyed the service and people. Upon reading about the faith, I'm concerned that it may be too much for me. I hadn't planned on picking a denomination per se, and Lutheran seems as "serious" as becoming a Catholic.
Any suggestions, input or opinions?

Jesus spent well over two years training his hand selected apostles to preach the Gospel to all mankind. And his Original Kingdom Gospel is about seeking a hidden kingdom...Matt. 6:33 and 13:44.

Now, Paul was certainly not one of those twelve. Does Paul's declaration that he is an apostle make him so? And did that delcaraton add any validity to the sacrifice gospel he preached? Source: http://gospelenigma.com

My dear friend Moon is my spotlight for the night!

Here's why I love her so:
1. She always takes the time to leave a message on my 360 everyday! How thoughtful
2. If she receives Best Answer, she always adds a comment of Thanks! to the poster.
3. She genuine!

(BTW, Moon....if you were wondering how you suddenly got like 20 extra points...I played Best Answer thumbs up fairy!)

It's again one of these love spreads that is meant to shed light on the current situation, the things holding you back or confounding said situation, the challenges and opportunities (stepping stones to getting what you want), advice for each of the two ppl involved, and a potential outcome if the advice is followed.
These are all in response to one question asked by the querant. In this case it was "What is the best approach to take in dealing with him right now?"

So here it is...

Love Situation: 5 coins
Challenges/opportunities: the Lovers
My Issues: the Magician
His issues: 10 Swords
My Advice: 10 Cups
His Advice: the Devil
Possible Outcome: 5 Swords

NOTE: I think it's interesting that 10s and 5s appear. Also the lovers, magician, and devil all fit in a sort of 'love affair' schema i think.

It seems that Death, Sex, and Money are the last great taboos of modern society--stuff that everybody deals with but nobody's really allowed to TALK about. That being said, how does your religious orientation (or lack thereof) affect your preparations for death? I'm not really looking for your beliefs on the afterlife, but what do you say to those around you, how do you comfort and prepare each other for what is an inevitable part of existence?

I was baptised Catholic. Respectfully I chose neither to believe or be a non believer in God (agnostic?) but would like to plan a non-religious funeral. Do funeral homes do this? I havn't been to a funeral where this is the case and I have never heard of anyone doing it, so that's why im asking. Music is kinda my thing and I want them to experience some of the music I would have listened to. Or is this just plain morbid? These are the songs I'M concidering.

Collective soul - Shine
Bad Company - Shooting Star
Nirvana - Something in the way
Pink Floyd - Wish you were here
INXS - Never Tear Us Apart
Incubus - I Wish You Were Here
Nirvana - You know you're right & Marigold
The Yard Birds - Expecting to Fly
3rd Eye Blind - Jumper & How's it gonna be
John Lennon - Imagine
Smashing Pumpkins - Tonight, Tonight & Disarm
Bush - Come Down
David Bowie - Space Oddity & Ashes to Ashes
MCR - Cemetery Drive & Helena & Ghost Of You
Verve pipe - Freshmen
Any suggestions?
Thanks

Well.....LOL....I will quote from an answer someone gave to a previous question about the end times.....

"Because Gods prophetic stopwatch STOPPED two thousand years ago when He SET ASIDE the Nation Israel and began the "preaching of Jesus Christ ACCORDING to the REVELATiON Of the mystery...." We are now in the age of GRACE and Gods stopwatch will again start ticking prophetically AFTER we who are the church, the Body of Christ , are taken OUT of this world by Christ when He comes for US in the air.

THEN the end times will begin and all the prophetic events will continue to be fulfilled.

The RAPTURE must take place FIRST, before the end times of prophecy are again put into play. "

None of this is from the Bible...The only sources that back this up are FICTIONAL novels such as the "Left Behind" books. For 25 or more years I believed this nonsesne and I started studying on my own. I now realize that none of this is true. What do you think?

I met a really great guy. Catch is, he is married. He is gay, and is working on a divorce, but it will take some time. People keep telling me "That's what they all say" etc, but why do they all say it? Are all married men lying about that?

I know he's lying to his wife, but we live in a state where he could lose custody of his kids if he came out too early.
