The Mormons religion has not practiced polygamy since 1899.The break off of their church does though, and call themselves the Reorganized LDS church. They have different teachings and have different beliefs. The similarities of the Muslims and Mormons and very different indeed. The Muslims believe Jesus Christ was a profound leader and teacher, but not the savior of the world. They also do not believe he was ever crucifed. The Mormons do believe he was the Savior of the world, died for our sins on the cross and base the name of their church on his name. The church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day saints.

polygamy is permitted in Christianity too. There is not a single verse from the New Testament that prohibits polygamy, and it is directly allowed in the Old Testament.
"The king, moreover, must not acquire great numbers of horses for himself or make the people return to Egypt to get more of them, for the LORD has told you, 'You are not to go back that way again.' He must not take many wives, or his heart will be led astray. He must not accumulate large amounts of silver and gold. (From the NIV Bible, Deuteronomy 17:16-17)"
"Many wives" clearly proves: (1) The person can have multiple wives, but not too much; and (2) It doesn't limit marriage to only one wife.
A deacon must be the husband of but one wife and must manage his children and his household well. (From the NIV Bible, 1 Timothy 3:12)"
Have polygamy been really prohibited by Jesus, Paul would not have told his religious leaders to not practice it!!
The fact that Paul prohibited polygamy only on a select few proves that it is allowed for the general public!

No God-fearing Muslim or Morman practices polygamy. This was possibly accepted many many years ago, when lots of men were killed during battle. It is not accepted today except by just a few radicals who interprete the Quran or Bible/Book of Mormon inaccurately.

LDS Mormons no longer practice polygamy. And they believe that Jesus was the Savior of the world where Muslims believe Jesus was just a prophet. I think that's a pretty big difference.

Actually the NATION OF ISLAM and THE CHURCH OF LATTER DAY SAINTS, have some odd beliefs in common particular to race, although similar ideas are found in the Bible, particularly the penteteuch, which Islam, Chirsitianity, and Judaism all share.
However Real Islam and THE CHURCH OF LATTER DAY SAINTS are quite different.
Their beliefs aren't as easily compatible as Christian and Islamic ones are.

Well, with the Mormons, when the government threatened them and Utah was in danger of not becoming a state, someone had a "vision" and they are no longer polygamists. There are a few die-hard sects of it, though.
I think Muslims do but very rarely. I think both show a lack of respect for women.
