Why did God rest on the seventh day?

Oops, I put this question in the wrong category, didn't I? It should be in the "Mythology and Folklore" category.

I'm looking for dates in Greek Mythology. Are there any original sources (like Hesiod or Ovid) that give us any clues as to when events happened?

For instance, when did Cronos swallow his children? When was the Titanomachy (when the Gods struck out against the ruling Titans) and when was the Giantomachy (when the Giants struck back against the Gods)? Did all this take place in 10 million BC or was it 10,000 BC?

Plato tells us that Atlantis sunk around 9600BC, but when did everything else happen? If you have any other landmark dates

Please note that I'm looking for mythological dates (i.e. concerning greek gods), not historical dates (i.e. concerning greek men and women).

Thanks for your insights!

You said,

All that sounds Completely logical. but i still feel that there has to be some kind of spark that started life. It's kind of impossible to say that the organisms and gasses that started life appeared out of no where. something had to put it there.

My reply,

Why didn't you ask "Who made God?" What sparked that? If God made everything, you still have to go back to square 1. Who made God? If God can be infinite, so can the Universe. Why stop at God? Is your conclusion selfishly motivated? Do you choose to give all the credit to something that you THINK is doing something for you?

In other words, who would be a great follower of your beliefs?

I've never met her, and I don't know what she likes, since I am surprising my son and her too, I don't have anyone to ask except Yahoo experts like you. I am also going to meet my new granddaughter. Someone asked a question about why a certain ethnic group of people have a particular physical characterisic. Many responders called that person a racist.

Is stereotyping a form of racism? What is the fundamental difference between the two?

According to the Bible, you cannot be materialistic/worldly and be a Christian: James 4:4; 1 John 2:15-17. It seems that those who are materialistic/worldly are not true Christians and will end up in hell because their faith was false.

Their meetings that they meet about, are those which concern the SPP. This is just an observation which I have made.

In the occult the waxing moon means giving strength to those things which you do. The full moon means that it culminates to the strength which you need to attain to complete things. The waning moon means the decrease and destruction of what you seek. Don't discount that what I just wrote is false, because there are thousands of years of practice which will say that it is not.

If you see someone you know 'enjoys' taking advantage of others, putting people down, using ploys for sympathy, and generally being a drain on society and they are actually very good at it and seem to be living the high life because of their actions. How can you explain that 'bad example' is doing well for themselves, when you see someone struggling just to make ends meet, but doing it honestly and are failing at it. Where is the justice in this instance?

That might sound insane at first...

However, what I'm really wondering is if there are any Christian denominations that teach that the pagan gods and demi-gods actually existed, but that they were the "Sons of God" and the Nephilim mentioned in Genesis 6:1-4

I'm a lesbian myself, and I broke up with my girlfriend a few months ago. I met a new girl recently, but so far I think we're nothing to each other but "sexpartners". We would get together every few days or so and spend the night together. We wouldn't talk to each other about things in life, all we do is kiss and hump aggressively in bed for hours, and then we would fall in sleep. The next morning we go seperate ways again. I think there must something wrong with this......

Just recently I had a baby. I'm not a baptized Jehovah's Witnesses but my family. I am close to my grandmother wha has been a witness all her life. I lost alot of blood during my c-section and I was told that I needed a transfusion right away or I could die. So here I am with my third child my new baby. My fiancee says that it is not open for discussion to refuse the blood that our family needs me. I give in and accept the blood. Was I wrong for giving in and accepting the blood? Should I tell me grandmother what I had done? She is 78 years old do you think it would kill her to tell her? Should I keep it to myslef?
