Are catholics Christians?

If so, why do they worship statues and continue to believe that Mary was born without sin when the Bible SPECIFICALLY does not say that she was born without sin?

The Bible clearly teaches that "All have sinned and come short of the Glory of God." (Book of Romans)

Jesus died for us on the cross.

What does John 3:16 say?

"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life."

The next verse continues to say:

"For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn it but the world might be saved through Him."

The word WORLD includes all HUMANS past, present and future.

So, are Catholics Christians?

Catholics don't even teach about the second coming and the message of Jesus' return is found in over 100 passages in the Bible.

Your thoughts?

then they will ask something stupid like, what will happen in my future, will my bf cheat on me, will I win the basketball tournament. Just a few examples I've seen in the past week.

That's seriously all they say and expect even the most advanced psychic to beable to answer. Why are people so uneducated about super natural abilities. I've even emailed some of these people asking what their problem was. I think it might be the same person doing this as a joke.

Oh yea and psychic abilities do exist. I've experienced them myself mostly astral projection and telepathy, and i know more advanced phychics. If you are being brainwashed to think other whys then keep it to yourself

I have lived in my house for almost a year now and everything has been fine. For the past week i have been having trouble sleeping for no reason. I started getting this strange vibe from the house for about three days now. Every time i walk in here I get extremely sick to my stomach and i feel like someone or something is trying to get me out possibly for my own good? I don't feel like my house is threatening me or anything I just feel as if something is trying to protect me from this house or scare me out of it. I started noticing all these flies in my bathroom scattered throughout it. I thought nothing of this...this morning as I was checking my email and my five year old son was watching tv we heard water dripping, the noise drowned out because of planes passing by overhead so i ignored it. The sound grew louder so i walked to the bathroom and my hot water was on full blast in my tub. There is no way my son did it he was next to me. We live alone and theres only one way someone could have got in and thats threw my front door. The other strange thing was when I came home from work today there was a note on my door that was stuck in between the door knob and door frame. Whe i opened it, it said "Check your breakers and GFI switches" I called my ex husband to see what a GFI switch was and he said I have only one and its in my bathroom...its the switch with the test and reset button. I checked them and it looked fine to me. So what in the world is going on with my bathroom all the sudden? The note, the flies, the water? I am completely freaked out and I do not feel safe. I cant take the horrible feeling this house is throwing at me? Has anyone ever heard of this before? Am I over reacting? Not to mention for the past week I have also had these nightmares. I haven't had a nightmare in years! It's always the same..I have to protect my son from something. Please someone help me

Well just so you know to start off yes, I am a Christian. But anyway yeah my friend just told me today that he was an atheist. (He was agnostic) And this is he reason. He says that a lot of people he cares about are atheist and that he cares about them and according to the bible they are going to hell. So he says he just can't believe in a god that sends 'good people' to hell. I care about my friend and so basically I need to know what I can say to him. Any help would be greatly appreciated! (if you have any questions just ask.)

I hear my christians use this term when refering to the bible. Having just finished reading it I had a question to those who say this is the word of god.

I will use the traditional authors even if most scholars agree that almost all of the text were not in fact written by them.

Matthew -matthew
Mark - mark
Luke -luke
John - john
Acts -luke
Romans -paul
1 Corinthians -paul
2 Corinthians -paul
Galatians -paul
Ephesians -paul
Philippians paul
Colossians -paul
1 Thessalonians -paul
2 Thessalonians -paul
1 Timothy -paul
2 Timothy -paul
Titus -paul
Philemon -paul
Hebrews _paul
James -james
1 Peter -peter
2 Peter -peter
1 John -john
2 John -john
3 John john
Jude jude
Revelation john

since these books were all obviously written by men, either to other men or about other men, what part exactly is inspired by god. I mean if jesus wrote it I could at least understand why some might call it that but he didn't even write a single word.

Thanks!

I just started a new job and was interoduced to my co-workers and everyone was nice except one guy. When the manager introduced us he kept looking away and said nothing to me, then imediately went about asking the manager a question he had. The manager apologized to me right there, it was a very awkward moment. Why did the guy act that way? Was it something I did?

A guy suggested to take revenge on the martyr's loved ones.
But the martyr loves God above everything and everybeing.
So, this is my response to him:

I think you are quite wrong. I think you don't know the psychology of suicide-bombers. They believe that
(including their parents) that they will go to heaven immediately and do you know they don't keep it secret
to their loved ones and are encouraged by them? Do,
you think they will care if their whole family be killed?
NOT AT ALL.
Even 1000 muslims are killed against one Jew--no Jew will exist in the world and killing all Muslims will creat NUCLEAR WINTER.
The Israeli Tactics worked for a while but the beginning of their end started after the Lebanon War.
Muslims will go to heaven after being killed and infidels to hell-fire--so what's the lose?
The Prophet said, "Nobody who dies and finds good from Allah (in the Hereafter) would wish to come back to this world even if he were given the whole world and whatever is in it, except the martyr who, on seeing the superiority of martyrdom, would like to come back to the world and get killed again (in Allah's Cause)." (Sahih Bukhari, 4:52

Everyone has someone or something they worship in life. As Christians we worship God. Atheists, having no spiritual deity, usually worship material things such as houses, cars, money or things such as drugs or sex. Think about it.

I'm 13 years old, a born again christian. I have a habit every day of printing out 7 gospel tracts (or more), folding them up, and puttin them on the fenceposts on the path as i walk my dog, so that people can pick them up, read them and be lead to Christ, or at least good seed will be planted in their life. I know the law of sowing and reaping, and that the tracts i pass out will reap a great harvest, they're still sowing now, and not much have been picked up (lately), so they're sort of piling up. So today i'm walking and i hear this lady say, "Whoever is doing this is littering, i've walked by them, and haven't picked up one once. HAA!!" She said alot of discouraging things about them, this may sound stupid, but should i still pass them out, even if they're piling up and making people think it's litter?

All I see is athiests complaining about how much damage religion causes towards society and how it's a bad impact. But honestly, many religions are generally trying to better improve our individual selves and increase morality. I don't hate athiests, I respect their opinions. (the world will never agree on one thing) but I just wish people would appreciate what the churches good intentions are.

when it comes to your beliefs (whether you are religious or not) do you think that it is important to think in a literal sense 100% of the time?

or should we think more outside the box...in a more spiritual, complex manner?

I knew a guy who wanted to ask a woman to marry him, and things didnt go his way. I tried to counsel him, and I asked him if he ever just talked to the woman 1 on 1 to discuss his feelings and what not. He told me that it is forbidden to be alone with an un-married woman to discuss such things, as it could lead to inappropriate activity! I can understand a late night date by the beach, maybe, but not maybe a lunch at a restaurant. Grown ups with serious issues do not have to be babysitted by so called "elders" to talk about these issues I told him. I think it is ridiculous to beleive that adults need to have chaparones in a daylight, non-sexual discussion. Does anyone else think this is ridiculous? One should be able to discuss feelings of love and emotion with a person of the opposite sex without a chaparone I dont beleive the Bible says that you need a chaparone for this. Is this not a ridiculous JW situation? Im not hating on them, but I just think this is crazy. What do you think?
