if you don't know how to answer a question logically and you realize that the only logical answer is somewhat contradicting to the idea of a benevolent, loving god, why don't you just say, "i don't know." in stead of answering, "when you die you can ask god"? sorry, but i keep getting that response as an answer.

i am watching the History channel and the show is about armageddon and one of the thing I saw threw me out of hand a little (I am a believer of God and Jesus) it talks about how when God comes to judge people the ones that are believers and are good or something like that will be called to him and everybody shall rise from the dead to be judged and the ones who are bad will burn in hell for all eternity and the good ones i think will go to heaven and there will be 1,000 years of peace....i don't get the whole concept explain to me the whole judgment thing.....

The old testament has many laws, such as dietary, homosexuality, the ten commandments, etc. Christians tell me that the old testament no longer applies. Then why do the ten commandments and homosexuality rules apply but dietary laws don't. I am not arguing for or against anything. I am just trying to understand.

Have you ever wondered what scientists have to gain in their unsuccessful attempts at disproving God's existence?

Atheist. Say you had a near death experiance and saw that there was a heaven, or hell. How would you react?
Christians. Say you had a near death expierance and there was nothing after this life. How would you react?

I believe that just one of the many reasons why people are atheists is because they do not want to take responsibility for their own actions and they don't like the idea of having to atone for their sins.

Since many now claim it's a "relationship with Jesus" rather then a religion.

Christians and Muslims claim that religion has ALL the answers. Is that why they want to replace science with superstition in our schools, or outlaw schools all together in places like Afganistan?

I am going to try and guess why some Christians dislike evolution. Tell me if I am right or wrong Christians. While evolution does not disprove God, or even the Christian God, I think it does take away some of our significance. While humans are the most sophisticated species on Earth, that’s not good enough for some people. Some people want to think humans have a divine purpose. If evolution is right, then we are an accident that resulted from an accumulation of random genetic mutations. It makes us humans seem more like an accidental byproduct of God's creation rather than a direct creation that serves some divine purpose. It means we aren’t as special as we thought. I am making an honest attempt to understand so please no hate rants.

‘End of times’ guys believe that in order for Christ to return, the Jews have to be in Israel but they also believe that anyone not a Christian will get slaughtered when Christ does return. So apparently, the Jews sole purpose is to be in Israel so the prophecy can be fulfilled even though they will be slaughtered by Christ when he returns.

Okay, this is to take a breather from some of the nastiness here...it's also your chance to say something kind about another user on this forum. (This was started by one of the other regulars on this forum and this game appears from time to time).

Here is how you play...

Put a * on your answer to mark your spot, then go and look at the entry of the previous person who posts...
Then look on their profile and find something nice to say about them and then go back and edit your answer with the comments about the other person.

It's a way to do something nice for someone else today.

. . . and leaves you guys.

And then comes back down after a while and tells you (and your friends) that he spoke to God. And that God wrote his commandements on a rock, and he carried it all the way down the mountain (and hey, there are exactly 10 of them - not 11, 12 or 127 but exactly 10).

Would you believe him?
