The curtain was torn in two symbolising that there would no longer be anything separating us from God. Jesus is our high priest and by means of prayer, we have a direct connection with him. God's people are sanctified (set apart) and acceptable before God but only in and through the Lord Jesus and his precious blood.
Now, why would God want the curtain sewn up again? What would that symbolise?
That Jesus dying on the cross was worthless? That everything that could separate us from God was back again? No!Jesus is our high priest. He died and his blood was poured out to pay the price for our sin! We can now come before God because of Jesus blood.
If God tore the veil, and it remains that way according to his purpose, who told Joseph Smith to sew it up?
The one person that would love to turn back time and not have Jesus die for our sins conquering death and hell is Satan.
If that is true, and I believe it is, then joseph Smith is a false prophet.

The tearing of the curtain before the Holy of Holies (at the time of the crucifixion) is symbolic of the new covenant between God and man, in which God is alive within us, not merely a remote being accessible only through the medium of the priesthood.
I guess you are referring to the founder of the Mormons. Does he have the power to "put it back", do you think?

The Almighty revealed the Gospel pure and clear, only then no end of "churches" managed to cover it up again.Any serious student of ecclesiastical history will see this.
It is the conviction of LDS members that Joseph Smiths' role was to restore the church of Jesus Christ on earth.
The theory of apostasy is not unique to our church, you will find it as a common thread throughout reformist movements right up to the present day.
Note : If you don't like the LDS church then just go someplace else.

What curtain are you talking about? Incidentally have you ever heard of the Zion curtain? That's what my brother in law calls Utah. Actually I live in Utah and I think it's just fine. We have Mormons, Pagans, Budists, Catholics, Baptists, and everything else. And The Native American Church. Hooray for Payote!

God tore the curtain (veil) to represent a separation from the presence of God.
Once separated He prepared a way for us renew that connection by providing a Savior (Christ) who could act as an advocate for us to the Father.
This advocacy is not free. It requires us to repent, which means we must recognize we have commit an error, ask forgiveness from those we may have offended, and asked forgiveness from the Father, in the name of Christ, and then not repeat the error.
The curtain being restored is part of the larger temple ceremony which is meant to remind us of our eternal potential and help us to keep close to the Spirit of Lord.
When we stay close, we slowly reach a more pefected state, allowing us to stand in presence of God.
God cannot allow any unclean thing to enter into His presence, or he will cease to be God.
We must become clean or we cannot be there. We enter into His presence by passing through the curtain (veil) after the judgement day.

God tore it to show that we can boldly go to the Throne of Grace. I guess some put it back because they are deceived. If you have people believing that only you can petition Gog and everyone has to go through you, then you have control. And control is witchcraft.
