Nobody knows when the world will end, and nobody knows what will happen. 666 is an example of gematria - the numerical value is equal to the name of Caesar Nero. The Apostle John (author of the book of Revelation) was the bishop over the seven Churches in Asia Minor. He was arrested in 69 AD and imprisoned on a small Greek island called "Patmos." He was allowed to send letters, but everything he wrote was carefully inspected. He wanted to talk about the persecution in Asia Minor under the emperor Domition, but he couldn't say anything outright. So, he left clues to Domition's identity throughout the text.

Nero, who had been dead for several years, persecuted Christians in Rome. So John described Domition as Nero reborn. He said that the "Beast" Nero was murdered, that another king reigned after him, and that Nero was revived in the third king (which was Domition). Just in case anybody misunderstood that, he added that the name of the Beast added up to 666, which is the numerical value of "Caesar Neron."

The rest of the book of Revelation is an exposition on the ancient Christian (and Pagan) "Mysteries." If you are familiar with Hellenistic religious symbolism and the themes expressed in the Mystery schools, the book of Revelation will make a lot more sense.

As to when the world will end, the bible is clear. It will end before the last of the generation whom Jesus preached to has died. Roughly speaking it will end before the year 100.

So either the bible is wrong or we're living in the post apocalyptic times. This must be heaven. Or hell.

Thus the first beast was basically the Ancient Romans.
The second Beast was the Ancient Holy Romans. Both empires wanted to be worshipped. Both were apparently defeated, thus why do men still fear italian dons or bosses? aND THE german holy roman empire fell why? i suspect the weak underbelly of the gerrman reich had something to do with it.

There is probably more half-baked theology and superstition in the "end of the world stuff" than everywhere else in the entire Christian faith put together.

Jesus Himself said nobody knows when the world will end.

"666" is the mark of the beast. Lucifer. Satan. Whatever name that the disobedient, defeated, petulant angel chooses for himself. He has no power unless people, in their weakness and foolishness and disobedience, give it away to him.

The whole end of the world thing is a misconception, based on misinterpretation of the word aeon, which means end. Therefore, it's not the end of the world at all, but the end of the age of Pisces, which doesn't happen until around 2150, when the age of Aquarius begins.
