I'm 13 years old, a born again christian. I have a habit every day of printing out 7 gospel tracts (or more), folding them up, and puttin them on the fenceposts on the path as i walk my dog, so that people can pick them up, read them and be lead to Christ, or at least good seed will be planted in their life. I know the law of sowing and reaping, and that the tracts i pass out will reap a great harvest, they're still sowing now, and not much have been picked up (lately), so they're sort of piling up. So today i'm walking and i hear this lady say, "Whoever is doing this is littering, i've walked by them, and haven't picked up one once. HAA!!" She said alot of discouraging things about them, this may sound stupid, but should i still pass them out, even if they're piling up and making people think it's litter?

Your intentions are very good, but very, very, VERY few people have ever read a bit of paper and immediately become Christians. It just doesn't work that way.

If people think you are littering, they think you are doing something wrong. That means you aren't being a good witness to the GOOD and SINLESS nature of Christ.

You should try to find a more productive means of sharing your faith. Try what Jesus recommended: feed the hungry, clothe the naked, minister to the sick, free the oppressed, etc. Even at 13, you can accomplish a lot.

Hi there Kiddo! I Applaud Ur Zeal, but Realize that it Will be Mocked. Also Realize that Most People never "Seek God" until they are "IN Trouble". They Ignore God Until that Point Then want Him to "Bail Them Out"!!! Another Reality Check is that the Holy Spirit "Opens" the Person Up to being "Receptive" to the "Gospel" & We Can't do it, just as We Can't Accept Christ for them!!! Our "Job" is to simply Tell them the "Good News". Be Very Careful around "Strangers" as this World is getting More Evil everyday. Take an Adult with U if U go "Door to Door". Don't "Offend or Litter". The Most Effective Witness is the Way U Live Ur Life!!! After the "Fliers" have been there a while without being disturbed, remove them and use them somewhere else. U must also Study so that U are prepared to answer Questions as well. God Bless & Keep U!!! John

Gospel tracts are a nice thing and offer encouragement to people who are interested. I wouldn't discourage you from doing this and I think that God is pleased with your efforts. But you do have to deal with the whole 'litter' issue and also realize that the most effective way to lead others to a one on one relationship with Jesus is to have a one on one relationship with them. A tract coming from a friend will do much more than a tract coming from a stranger. You keep doing what you and God (through prayer) decide you need to do. And I'm really impressed that a 13 year old is so interested in helping save the lost.

The trinity is not a Catholic thing at all, it's a part of nearly every Christian denomonation. Being 'born again' is a more common term among protestants. And just a note to the person who mentioned the King James Bible, I'm not sure where you're getting your information from but that version is becoming less and less common, most churches these days use the NIV, and as for swearing on it, no one should actually swear on a Bible because the Bible itself says not to swear on anything, "let your yes be yes and your no be no".

Keep passing them out but in a different area.Pray to God and ask Him for a spot where you can reap a harvest. I am born again and a soul winner also.

If you can find a copy of the Christian movie "The Gospel Blimp" watch it. It is about people devoted to Christ flying over their home town in a blimp and dropping tracts all over their town. Thousands and thousands of them.

Rather than the harvest they hoped to reap, they wound up alienating the people because of all the litter. They were fined heavily and made to clean up the whole community. I think it is based on a true story.

The best advise is to spread it around.

My wife and I have prayed for your success. Amen.

Jordan... sorry.... unfortunately they are all correct about the many laws these days.

God wouldn't want you to go against them, we are to follow the laws of man so that we can show ourselves in a GOOD way to mankind and be a good testimony of the Lord.

However, like some had mentioned, you CAN ask at certain places if you can post some of them for free to take... or, find places that have bulletin boards or so on and leave at least one.... Jesus had said that just getting ONE back to the fold was worth much to Him....so, if we all can help just ONE person, we will be doing well in the eyes of the Lord. :)

God be with you... your heart is in the right place :)

**sorry juefawn... Psychologically you may be correct, but , that is not exactly what Jesus meant when He said we must be "Born Again"....you're right about what their thought was and what Jesus's reply was about reincarnation; but, it's simply repenting of and giving up our old habits, ways of belief, etc.,. and asking Jesus into our hearts and being baptized in the Holy Spirit, and making a commitment of "will" to God in all area's of our life.
Peace be with you :)

**Jordan...two more thoughts here...1) she is being convicted by the Lord 2) She may not know they are "Christian tracts" but think they are something else....

Wow, your kind of messed ^ in the head.
Not only do not open mindly investigate other beliefs, but you can't get enough of your cult, by insisting that born again Christians should only answer your questions.
What happened to that free world were supposed to live in.
Free your mind from religion...

WHAT IS BORN AGAIN?????

In the 6th century, in the year 553 A. D., the 2nd Council of Constantinople officially declared reincarnation a heresy and the doctrine of reincarnation was officially banished by the Christian Church. Before this time Christians believed reincarnation is what Jesus was talking about when he said born again.
It was banished for no other reason than it was considered to be too much of an influence from the East. The decision was intended to enable the church to increase its power at that time, and to tighten its hold upon the human mind by telling people their salvation had to be accomplished in one incarnation and one lifetime, and if they didn't make it, they would go to Hell. It would appear that the Church like Constantine was afraid that the idea of `past lives` would weaken and undermine the Church`s growing power and influence by affording followers too much time to seek salvation? During the same Early Christian Era leading up to the Council of Constantinople, notable Church fathers like Origen, Clement of Alexander and St. Jerome accepted and believed in the reincarnation principle. So did the Gnostics and the Christian Cathars of Italy and Southern France and they were severely brutalized for their belief in reincarnation as late as the 12th century!

WHAT IS BORN AGAIN...

Well in this life you are born from your mother.
When your mother goes into labour she breaks water.
This is why you were baptized, mearly because you choice sub-conscious to be a born again.

No. You should understand that it IS litter. What would you think if someone tore thousands of pages out of a Koran or the Bhudist bible and put them all over your yard? And did you ever once read in the Bible about Jesus posting signs above the urinals at the airport or dropping leaflets?

You have good intentions, but people don't learn by reading. They learn good by being given a good example. and Yep, you are littering. It's really annoying. You may get the opposite results, and worse, someone may pick up holy scripture and use it in horrible ways. You shouldn't do that. If someone is thirsty to know such things, trust me, they will do their best to find out. But if they are not ready for such things, it is like throwing pearls to the swine.

Keep on!

God said that His word would not come back void. If the truth reaches one person, and they come to know Jesus....there are gold bricks thrown in heaven.

We as believers have a great commission from Jesus...."Go ye therefore and teach all nations". Spreading the word as a witness for Him in any way possible.

Maybe one day that lady will read one and the Holy Spirit will touch her heart....you never know.
