A year consists of 365.25 days, so technically, their birthday still occurs every time that amount of days passes, regardless of the numerical date of the month on which the birth actually occurred.

My friend was born on February 29th. He celebrates his birthday as "the day after February 28th" regardless of the year. Only every four years does that day happen to be in February. However, he does joke that he's technically 5 years old.

Most just celebrate their birthday on March 1st. My 1st grade teacher was born on Feb. 29 so she would say that she was the same age as her students.

Does that go for the Chinese year stuff as well? So, if you were born in the year of the rat, you're diseased and you like garbage? How about the year of the dog? Is there a year of the drunk?
