The best I can figure is maybe the bodily person may not think as a person, but could as spirit. Soesn't it say they have no part under the sun. And to it's different times, the rules aren't so clear for now. A literal inerpretation is fine, but the letter kills also. The Western world has so missed the dual nature of spirit and mater of the bible. It was written in the Mid-East and has a balanced view.
