and that he returns to dust and ceases to have any thoughts or consciousness after death. So why do most religions teach that people do not die, that they keep on living in some other invisible place?

its interesting to note that satan deceived Eve by lying to her and telling her she would not die (Genesis 3:4) now most religions in the world teach that after your body dies that you go on living in some other realm... that you do not die...

Most of the world's religions still believe in satan's original lie. You will find very few religions that believe YHWH/Jehovah who gave Solomon the wisdom to write Ecclesiastes 3:19, 20 & 9:5, and David to write Psalm 146:4 and Moses to record what YHWH told Adam at Genesis 3:19 telling us exactly what happens to us when we die. And when is the resurrection of those who are asleep in death?
Yhshua/Jesus tells us at John 5:28, 29; John 11:11
And before that Daniel was told by YHWH to write Daniel 12:2. All these Scriptures expose satan's first deception that "you will not die" as the satanic lie that it is!

Now, about “hell”
there are 3 words in the Bible which are translated as "hell"
Sheol
Gehenna
Hades
Sheol = the grave
Gehenna = a literal place where trash was burned into ashes in Biblical times
Hades = the Greek equivalent to the Hebrew word Sheol

God is Love and He created everything
He would not create a place of eternal suffering and torment for humans

there is the symbolic "lake of fire" but if you think about it, what would happen to you in a lake on fire? you would drown beneath or burn above... either way you would be dead, not eternally suffering, just dead... non-existent.

the Bible is very clear on the fact that mankind was made from the dust of the earth. There is nothing in the Bible to lead one to believe that there are billions of "souls" or "spirits" waiting in heaven for human bodies, or that there are billions of "souls" or "spirits" of dead humans somewhere else. Humans were made from the earth and imbued with God's Holy Spirit which is only *one* spirit that animates *all* living things on earth.

Humans do not *have* a spirit of their own. The holy spirit emanates from YHWH/Jehovah and that *one* spirit makes everything alive on earth. Yhshua/Jesus made it clear in the Scriptures that before he resurrected Lazarus, he was asleep=dead. Lazarus was not in heaven or hell.
Ecclesiastes 9:5; For the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not any thing, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten. (KJV)
John 11:11-14; This He said, and after that He said to them, "Our friend Lazarus has fallen asleep; but I go, so that I may awaken him out of sleep." The disciples then said to Him, "Lord, if he has fallen asleep, he will recover." Now Jesus had spoken of his death, but they thought that He was speaking of literal sleep. So Jesus then said to them plainly, "Lazarus is dead." (NASB)
John 5:28, 29; Wonder not at this, because there doth come an hour in which all those in the tombs shall hear his voice, and they shall come forth; those who did the good things to a rising again of life, and those who practised the evil things to a rising again of judgment. (YLT)
John 6:40; And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day. (KJV)
Genesis 2:7; And Jehovah God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. (ASV)
Genesis 3:19; In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return. (KJV)
Ecclesiastes 3:19-20; For an event [is to] the sons of man, and an event [is to] the beasts, even one event [is] to them; as the death of this, so [is] the death of that; and one spirit [is] to all, and the advantage of man above the beast is nothing, for the whole [is] vanity. The whole are going unto one place, the whole have been from the dust, and the whole are turning back unto the dust. (YLT)

BUT, Yhshua/Jesus came in part to show us the FUTURE and he proved that the future that his Father YHWH/Jehovah promises to obedient mankind is actually possible and absolutely guaranteed!

John 17:3 "This is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent. (NASB)

So, the question is 'when will Christ ressurrect all of those who are dead like he resurrected Lazarus?'

John 5:28, 29; "Do not marvel at this; for an hour is coming, in which all who are in the tombs will hear His voice, and will come forth; those who did the good deeds to a resurrection of life, those who committed the evil deeds to a resurrection of judgment." (NASB)

Acts 24:15; having hope toward God, which they themselves also wait for, [that] there is about to be a rising again of the dead, both of righteous and unrighteous (YLT)

John 6:40; "For my Father's will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day." (NIV)

Yhshua/Jesus was sent by YHWH/Jehovah to show us the way to inherit the Kingdom. I love the Scriptures that speak about the restoration of the Garden of Eden/Paradise that the first humans forsook in their greedy desire to "be like God". YHWH/Jehovah and His son Yhshua/Jesus designed this planet to be a paradise and they designed humankind to be perfect and never die; their original design was temporarily ruined by satan, but it will soon be restored and satan's way of divided governments, politics, greed and war will be destroyed. HALLE LU JAH ! !

Isaiah 65:17-25
For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth; and the former things shall not be remembered, nor come into mind. But be ye glad and rejoice for ever in that which I create; for, behold, I create Jerusalem a rejoicing, and her people a joy. And I will rejoice in Jerusalem, and joy in my people; and there shall be heard in her no more the voice of weeping and the voice of crying. There shall be no more thence an infant of days, nor an old man that hath not filled his days; for the child shall die a hundred years old, and the sinner being a hundred years old shall be accursed. And they shall build houses, and inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, and eat the fruit of them. They shall not build, and another inhabit; they shall not plant, and another eat: for as the days of a tree shall be the days of my people, and my chosen shall long enjoy the work of their hands. They shall not labor in vain, nor bring forth for calamity; for they are the seed of the blessed of Jehovah, and their offspring with them. And it shall come to pass that, before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear. The wolf and the lamb shall feed together, and the lion shall eat straw like the ox; and dust shall be the serpent's food. They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain, saith Jehovah.

Psalm 37:9-11
For evil-doers shall be cut off; But those that wait for Jehovah, they shall inherit the earth. For yet a little while, and the wicked shall not be: Yea, thou shalt diligently consider his place, and he shall not be. But the meek shall inherit the earth, And shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.

Proverbs 2:21
For the upright are the ones that will reside in the earth, and the blameless are the ones that will be left over in it.

Revelation 21:2-7
And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven of God, made ready as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a great voice out of the throne saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he shall dwell with them, and they shall be his peoples, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God: and he shall wipe away every tear from their eyes; and death shall be no more; neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain, any more: the first things are passed away. And he that sitteth on the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he saith, Write: for these words are faithful and true. And he said unto me, They are come to pass. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely. He that overcometh shall inherit these things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.

2 Peter 3:13
But, according to his promise, we look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.

Isaiah 45:18
For thus saith Jehovah that created the heavens, the God that formed the earth and made it, that established it and created it not a waste, that formed it to be inhabited: I am Jehovah; and there is none else.

Matthew 5:5
Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.

The best I can figure is maybe the bodily person may not think as a person, but could as spirit. Soesn't it say they have no part under the sun. And to it's different times, the rules aren't so clear for now. A literal inerpretation is fine, but the letter kills also. The Western world has so missed the dual nature of spirit and mater of the bible. It was written in the Mid-East and has a balanced view. Else explaing the spirit of truth will lead you into all truth. Not for private interpretation is not letting someone interpret it for you, but the spirit of truth and even the deep things of God. To go beyond elemental things. Like a parent we're to be raised to be mature and stand on our own, isn't that so? Anything can be made an idol. The goal has always been direct connect, Abraham and Adam had it thousands of years ago. It seems to be the time again.

The body is man of earth, not the soul. The soul is not necessarily the same thing as consciousness. If you think of consciousness just being your physical mind, then yes it would cease to be when you it stops operating.

The Bible says God created Adam from the dust of the Earth and Breathed life into him, and after we die, we go to be with our Creator, but some people, regrettably, will go somewhere else.

The bible is talking about the physical body returning to dust. It's the soul that joins God in heaven.

You are referring to some of the scriptures in the Old Testament. The New Testament says differently. This is one of the many contradictions found in the bible. If you select the scriptures carefully, you can biblical defend most any belief.

Which prompts the question: Is the bible trully Infallible?

right here is the respond, truthfully everybody PLEASE examine. In Jesus's time and long earlier that no person replaced into like Christ or had the capacity to do the flaws he pronounced, or have the educational he gave. by using fact no person had his teachings yet. Then the visual allure of Christ replaced into undemanding and he replaced into now on the earth. while he replaced into leaving the earth Peter replaced into the closest to Christ in assessment by using fact the main knowledgeable of the apostles. So Christ desperate to make him the hot instructor, by using fact Christ did no longer opt for to depart the earth and not making use of a instructor. What i'm saying is, there replaced into in basic terms some adult males that would desire to show like Jesus 2000 years in the past. In at present's worldwide there are hundreds. case in point Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev is extra like Christ then any pope. The catholic church made the perception that there would desire to in basic terms be one like Christ at a definite time, and that one, would desire to be granted the call of pope which ability father. while in Matthew 23:9 it says, call no guy your father in the worldwide, for you have one Father, who's in heaven. The catholic church has made the perception that peter replaced into the 1st pope while certainly Peter replaced into the 2nd taecher after Christ. The catholic church is disregarding all instructors who're no longer catholics to be a faux instructor. this is unquestionably a sin. maximum catholics you notice at present will say that's barely there way and not the protestants way, yet im no longer talking approximately different religons, im talking approximately people who've stumbled on the solutions from interior of, by non secular strategies, no longer a definite set of ideals. i cant have self belief human beings think of its that straightforward. The universe and Jesus christ are no longer so basic. present day technology is telling us we are able to in basic terms comprehend 5% of the universe. God says he's endless and there is endless wisdom. religon will end human beings from making use of there mind

Because they don't want to digest the concept that this is all there is to life. And It helps people to cope with the lose of a loved one , or their own future death in thinking that there are holes in the floor of heaven. Let it be, life is short .
