I know that a lot of the confilcts in the middle east is due to religious differences, which I think is ridiculous. And it seems that a lot of people do or don't do things just based on their religion, instead of on common sense and/or logic. I'm sure a lot of religious people will say that they make great decisions thanks to religion, but that is not always the case. For some I'm sure, but not all. It also seems that a lot of people could lead more eventfull, interesting lives if they didn't let their religion hold them back.

The time of sitting around and doing nothing has ended. It is time to start putting Jesus where he belongs a the head of our lives. It time to claim back what was take.No more .Same sex marriage we must get our goverments to realize that it is not right .What else should we as True followers of Jesus do?
P.S. I have nothing against people just their actions because I do not want them to go to hell Iwant to see as many people as possible in heaven.

In Nestor [Deadly]'s question "Atheism????" offered up about 20 minutes ago, he/she stated:

"To ask us how we know there is a God
based on scienctific evidence,
is like me asking to give me scientific evidence
telling me how you know you love your mother, or children."

To which Diane responded:

"Chemicals are released that indicate love, affection etc. as well as body heat signatures.. Science can document the effects of love.. proving it exists chemically.. "

which is, of course, true.

Does anyone know of any studies that have examined the physiological response of the faithful to the presence of external stimuli associated with their God? As an example, say, an EKG study testing whether Christians respond in a similar manner to that described above when shown a picture of Jesus on the cross?

Hopefully will get a few good responses here... I don't think the existence or robustness of such studies depends on one's faith.

=)

my top fear since i was a kid is seeing a ghost or spirit. When i was 13 in my room at night i had saw one walking around and around. i was soo scare so my parent thought of moving to a new house. So we did, a brand new house. But even though its a new house i still have that frighten feeling in me always. at night i would "think" i heard something, but then it wasn't. I am very confuse and very scare at the same time. Or sometime i would wake up in the middle of the night scaring the heck out of me. I would also be afraid to go use the bathroom.
so i was wondering if there is any useful tips of overcoming my fear, i tried with nightlights, and listening to music at night. But it still wont work..

I ask because both of my families and steps are increasingly racist and they both live in SC. I grew up here and there's a lot of racism, intolerance, 'fag-bashing', anti-intellectualism. People here think Bill O'reilly is their great leader after bush and that Oreiily's interaction constitutes acceptable behavior (in case you don't know, he talks *on TOP of people*)

I think because they are schoolteachers and doctors they say 'because I've seen it all' that they are entitled to having their cynical point-of-view. They call me 'insular' but I've actually traveled the world and been to nearly every state and lived in four of them...if anything, this insult is a projection. I think they know their racism disappoints and frustrates me and so they keep increasing it and making it worse to antagonize me. No that's too self-centered, isn't it? They're showing their true colors.

So my question is: is this about right for SC? Please tell me your south carolina experience differs.

I mean if Jesus is the messiah, how can you let him die on a cross for you. Take care of your own sin to get into heaven, for he came for the sinner, not the rightous. Seek his face to become perfect in his rightousness Hosa 10:12......but tell me how you love him? if it is not with rightousness. For if God hates sin, there must be a way to conquer it with in you, or your God is nothing more then a weak spirit who can not do all things. YEA I killed my son for you.....what is their no love for Jesus?

I am a member of a church that is in an organization. What can I do if I have a pastor that goes to one member and talks about me and makes the other members turn against me and then the pastor comes to me and talks about other members trying to make me turn against them. I left that church for 6 months because of that but then God told me to go back. This is where God has put me and I know it..Who do I go to..

I think it is the grace of God. Most young catholics were brought up that way and as such tend to rebel (evangelical kids do this also) however most who truely research the catholic faith come back.

the ones who left would hav ebeen disillusioned and of course get picked off by the evangelicals, JWs and the Later day saints.

They are looking for something, they have a God shaped gap that will only be filled in the Catholic Church.

I'm in this cave in the middle of the canyon of the crescent moon. I passed the three challenges, and made it to this room where there are tons of different looking grails, and some knight that says I must choose, and choose wisely. He says the true grail will bring me life, and the false grail will take it from me. One of the Nazis (I hate these guys, by the way) just showed me one of the wrong ones, and he vaporized. I don't want that to happen to me! Please help! My dad's been shot, and I need to get the true grail to heal him before he dies.

You say the Holy Spirit leads you, but there are over 250 protestant denominations all contradicting each other.

Each individual contradicts the next individual. So much for "one faith, one baptism, one lord.?"

Even the Reformers couldn't agree. Yet Jesus asked for his Church to be one. Yes that included doctrine and teachings.

17) And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood has not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven. 18) And I say unto thee, that thou art Peter, and upon this rock I shall build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. My question is what exactly was Jesus saying unto Peter in these scriptures?
