I think it is the grace of God. Most young catholics were brought up that way and as such tend to rebel (evangelical kids do this also) however most who truely research the catholic faith come back.

the ones who left would hav ebeen disillusioned and of course get picked off by the evangelicals, JWs and the Later day saints.

They are looking for something, they have a God shaped gap that will only be filled in the Catholic Church.

It seems ironic that the questioner himself makes a distinction between Catholicism and "evangelism", which is the preaching of the good news of God's Kingdom.

Adherents of the Christian Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses appreciate that others connect them so closely with the door-to-door ministry established by Christ Jesus himself.

(Matthew 10:7,11,14) As you go, preach, saying, ‘The kingdom of the heavens has drawn near.’ ...Into whatever city or village you enter, search out who in it is deserving... Wherever anyone does not take you in or listen to your words, on going out of that house or that city shake the dust off your feet.

Anecdotally, it is almost entirely unheard of for a baptized Jehovah's Witness to leave the religion for the purpose of "returning" to the Roman Catholic Church. The majority of those who "leave" Jehovah's Witnesses were actually expelled for serious sins.

Because they knew the truth all along. That the fullness of Christ is in the Catholic Church and has been taught and preached for over 2,000 years
