Bush Jr., At least Nixon was competent. The Republican Part ain't so grand these days. I have been a registered Republican for 40 years and have not voted Republican since the shrubs took over the party. I am ashamed of what this part has become...accusing those who disagee with their policies of treason. I am a veteran, and this is not what i fought for. By the way, presidents are not always polarizing... look at JFK! Cinton was not polarizing, he was frightening to the Republicans, because truth be told and in the words of a Republican Congressman, "he stole our positions". I should think if the president of the opposition adopted your positions, you should be happy...not scared. Clinton was more Republican that the Republicans! Bottom line is our leadership cares more about power and money that the country or the people. I am sad to say.

What's a political analyst to say? That the haters are always with us. That presidents are always polarizing. That Bush isn't the first, nor the last, president to inspire strong feelings. And one thing more: That this is why we have elections.

The most hated? As a percentage of the nations populace and degree of hatred resulting in civil disobediance/violence?
Abraham Lincoln would have that title by far. The entire group of southern states and their citizens would have killed him if they could and a large portion of northerners, once his drafts and taxes were passed would have as well...he was hated far, far more than any other president in history.

Sorry to burst your political agenda bubble.....

Taft. He is the founder of America's obesity problems. Way to go tubby. Oh and have you ever heard of a man name Hoover? Wikipedia says that the Secret Service saved his life a few times from disgruntled citizens. One guy had dynamite.

Bush. He has the lowest approval rating in American history.

Although Hoover IS a close second. Do you know what a Hoover flag is? It's the part of your pocket that sticks out when you turn them inside out. What were really really poor parts of town called? Hoovervilles.

Presuming you're referring to U.S. presidents,...probably President Harding...
However, I'd choose President Buchanan.
