No-one, in all of human history, has ever come up with one single scrap of evidence or valid argument for the non-existence of a god, so on what basis do people confidently assert that "God is not real"? Surely a bold statement like that should be supported with *something* tangible...?

Or is that just a coincidence?

My own beliefs---Asatru, Norse heathenry---are often seen as a "guy" thing, all warrior-ish and burly and hoorah and virile, and certainly warriorship is a part of them . . . yet in their originating cultures, women owned property, could choose to divorce, managed estates and commanded armies, despite that. And heathen women today are STILL strong and equal. Scary, too. :-)

Does seeing Deity as both singular and male *lead* to patriarchy and misogyny? Is it inevitable?

...And died in the centuries where God's word was law?

Jews as well and Blacks were both called "scum of the earth".

While the White man was at the other end of the spectrum...

So are we allowed to enslave God if he was created in his image which is basically black, white, brown etc skin....?

How come god permitted slavery?

This proves god ALLOWED racsim and slavery...

= all religions are wrong....

Tartarus - the angel who presides over Hell (or a term for hell itself). The angel, usually Uriel or Tartaruchus, is in charge of the torments of the nether regions, as already noted. For the names of other angels of these regions, see Angels of Hell. See particularly entry of Duma(h), who is "prince of Hell" and "angel of the stillness of death."

-A Dictionary of Angels
including the fallen angels

I ask this question because yesterday there was a question on the forum http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AnjJJs1uPJiPEnn0HywTjdXsy6IX?qid=20070719190215AAKBsdh&show=7#profile-info-8c21901f1ceff458aaee34639d61afa9aa that brought up Tartarus. From reading the text in my book of the angels I stated that Tartarus is another name for hell.

Does or doesn't the text word for word from the book say that Tartarus is another name for hell?

I just have to know if I am reading this correctly.

i'm not saying you're wrong in your beliefs, i am just curious if you know where they stem from, and if so, how that affects you?

La nina esta sentada - The girl is sitting
Los ninos estan sentados - The children are sitting
Why is sentada/sentados change form when talking about numerous people? No other verbs that I have learned do. Un hombre esta bailando/Unos hombres estan bailando. Bailiando doesn't change so why does sentada/sentados

Un nino en una bicicleta - a boy on a bicycle
unos hombres en bicicleta - men on bicycles
Why is bicicleta not plural when talking about numerous men on numerous bikes? Is it wrong to say "Unos hombres en bicicletas"

Un hombre esta andando en motocicleta - a man riding a motorcycle
Is it really ok to use andando (walking) to describe riding? Would it be acceptable to use montar/montando instead

Un hombre esta andando en motocicleta
Una muchacha esta montando a caballo
When are you supposed to use "a" and "en"? Could I say Una muchacha esta montando en caballo? If not, why?

Christian groups are growing, faith is more public. Is supply-side economics the explanation..

In a country where barely 3% of the population goes to church each week, the affair seemed just another step in Christian Europe’s long march toward secularism. Then something odd happened: A national furor erupted. A conservative bishop announced a boycott. A leftist radical who became a devout Christian and talk-show host denounced the biblical purge in newspaper columns and on television. A young evangelical Christian organized an electronic letter-writing campaign, asking Scandic: Why are you removing Bibles but not pay-porn on your TVs?
Sweden is not as secular as we thought,” says Christer Sturmark, head of Sweden’s Humanist Association

God’s tentative return to Europe has scholars and theologians debating a hot question: Why? The Swedish arm of Gideons, a Bible distribution group, recently gave the chain 10,000 New Testaments in Swedish and English.

Thoughts?

Eventually we plan on getting married. Because of our differences, he has yet to ask me. He wants to get married in a Catholic church, but I don't want to have a Catholic wedding. I want to be married in a church as well. He keeps drilling me about "Catholics don't believe in divorce," I don't either! But because my grandmother was married and divorced nine times, he feels as if I will fall into her shoes. Being Presbyterian, we don't have nuns and the Pope and rosary's or things that come with the Catholic religion. We also don't have to sit down and confess our sins to a priest. I am very comfortable being Presbyterian, as that was the way I was raised. What should I do? Not marrying him is out of the question. I can be flexible if I am convinced but I'd rather not be. SERIOUS ANSWERS ONLY PLEASE!

all my life I asked God for a wife, at age 23 I lost my mind desiring a wife. During my insanity and depresion, I picked up homosexuality in my thoughts...strong, gayness in my eyes by long time lonliness, I only really started going gay around 27, I guess....now I am a man that went to God, perfectly straight till I was 22, thought and struggled with gayness for 5 yrs...now my eyes have gone gay.I have not stoped blasheming him for 2 yrs straight with the lack of providing for one of his children. You have no I idea my hate. Every time I get these gay moments I struggle and threw it off, I start to twich, and this snarl goes on my face and threw my soul. I have even had moments my body lunges like a fist inside my body. so hear it is, a man goes to God for a wife, God gets insulted, tries to make the man gay, man finds his hearts desire has been mocked by the one who says he loves him, by giving him somthing he did not want or ask for.......

how does one forgive his gay God?Jesus?

My god. Someone ralphed in the stairwell in my apartment complex and it hasn't been cleaned up for a couple of days. I've never smelled anything so gross! It's a good thing my stomach was empty or I would have lost my lunch. Sour milk is a close second to this.

I don't know what religion I actually believe in, so if this sounds like one you knw, then let me know. I do believe in a higher power, unsure about God. Believe there was someone named Jesus, who believed that he ahd to die for our sins. I believe in reincarnation and the after life. I believe in angels, in the way that there is a spirit that looks after you. I believe in ghosts and entities that are both good and bad. I am not against homosexuality or pre-marital sex. I believe in witchcraft as a religion-only like the good. i am unsure about how the world started. I believe there is a scientific reason for everything. I have to see it to believe it. I believe in Karma. IDK. I'm really confused.
