Yes it is useful...you can see if plants and animals are healthy, if people are dangerous or friendly, if food is fresh, many uses for seeing auras...a nice ability...
Auras are the life force in living things...kind of like electrical voltage...and it can contain colors and other cues to give information to the viewer...no she shouldn't be worried about it...

It's a gift! You can tell a LOT about a person from their aura. All living things have an aura, and some even see the auras of trees and other plants. She should get a book on reading auras. Not many people can see them, and she would have a ball seeing people in a whole different way. It's nothing to be afraid of. I would love to have my aura read.

It is the energy field around every human, many people can see them, but most cannot. For many years they were quite prominent to me, and most people have blue tinted ones. A few were yellow, which based on my observations usually mean that person is having some health problems. No reason for her to worry, not really useful otherwise that I could ever tell, other than I did suggest to one person who was really really yellow to see a doctor. He had terminal cancer and died in a few months after being diagnosed.

My aunt and uncle have trained themselves to see them. All I really know about them is they're an energy field around the person. I guess it could be helpful to see if the person is sick or in pain. If I were her, I would research it.
Edit: It would still be a good idea to check and be sure it wasn't a vision thing.

Auras are just the energy fields surrounding us and are used to determine a person's overall health. Nothing to worry about.

She is psychic and good for her. She will be able to tell by their Auras, what type of person she is talking to she has a gift.

usually people only see auras when they are very young
animals see them too
we al have a particular coloured aura based on the energy we are giving out
if we are spirtual then it tends to be violet and indigo
if we communicate well its blue
etc

i used to as a child. i had no idea what it was. i would tell people about it, and they made fun of me. i was about 8 or 9 when it stopped. probably because of the teasing. so no, they don't have to worry about it, but they should read up on it

No she should not be worried.
She is on the right track. If she reads the right books she will be able tell what sought of mood people are in and who she should avoid.
